I don’t think Utah is going to lift its sales tax any time soon. This was just a vote to exclude items like tampons and adult diapers from it.
It’s not actually a special “luxury tax” despite Jezebel’s less-than-honest portrayal of what this is.
It’s just the regular state sales tax. They were voting to exclude a few hygiene products from it (including tampons and adult diapers) and it didn’t pass.

I think all of the accounts I’ve had banned on here over the years have been lost exclusively to innocuous disagreements with a writer that took grave offense at being disagreed with and/or corrected.
