Is it just me or is it really strange to go out for dinner with 10 people with no advance plans? Like... We'll just walk around in a group of 10 looking for a place to eat?

Yup. The only time I've had a birthday dinner, I made sure I only invited as many people as I could afford to pay for. Bought dinner and a few bottles of wine, and all drinks on top of that everyone paid for themselves.It was a breeze.

I pay my tip and I usually try unload some of the coins in my purse along with it, just because I don't want the coins (I'm not from the US, coins are very much used here). I've never thought about whether coins are inconvenient or not for the server. Meh, if they don't want them they can throw them away.

In recent memory, I only went out to dinner with a large group (8 people) once. For once, I wasn't drinking (rare) so my portion of the check was super cheap. I told them to piss off with "splitting it evenly", paid my share and sat and watched them drunkenly quabble for close to 30 minutes. It was amusing.

Yeah, we all just pay for what we ordered and add 20% to our individual contributions.

Yup. Anyone who thinks she worked on it is an idiot. She "worked" on it the same way other celebrities "worked" on the formula of Coca-Cola when they appear on the advert. She (or her manager) probably had final say on a lot of things (mostly how she was represented) but other than that - Nope.
