This is so true. I'm as unique as everyone else, and when I meet self-proclaimed "quirky people" it makes me want to punch them in the throat. The few actually quirky and weird people I've met seem to not be the slightest bit aware of how odd they are, and that's really endearing.
I agree. She should have started her own thread so everyone could just ignore her. Ah well, live and learn.
And a Manic Pixie Dream Girl isn't one of them because it refers to a character, not a human. It's a narrative stock character, not a Jungian archetype. How are you not grasping this?
Oh goodness, I love ask.fm.
You replied to her* just to tell her you were replying to her because you didn't want to reply someone else on the thread?
I can't even believe what you went through. I had an ex who began to harass me (showing up in places I usually go, trying to hack into and block my email accounts, Facebook, etc, calling non-stop at all hours, waiting outside my house) and even though I was extremely uncomfortable, I didn't feel particularly unsafe…
It's so scary. I can't even imagine how much more frightening it must be knowing you have a small child in the house and this batshit insane idiot is standing in your doorway. Who knows if his next delusional thought could be that her child is what is keeping them apart?
I can't even deal with this woman anymore. The top half of her body is as thin as a supermodel, and Kimmy has never been that thin. She needs to just stop Photoshopping her photos now, we're not all as idiotic as her.
From your own source:
Thanks, but I would rather use Rabin's definition seeing as, you know, he coined the term:
I would guess it's because the Manic Pixie Dream Girl discussion never really goes anywhere, so people don't really write too in-depth on it. If a character is a MPDG, it'll probably garner a mention in a critical review, but other than the early works when the term was first coined, I don't think anyone spends too…
Thank you! Someone on here once called me "tampon dude" so I was pretty sure I failed at the whole username thing, ha.
I wasn't going to bother replying to you because your head is obviously in some other dimension that none of us can penetrate (How Manic Pixie Dream Girl of you!) but I have to reply to this.
Yes, I've read your comments, but you can't make up your own definition for a word that already has a very solid definition and then expect everyone to agree with your definition. The very basis of your argument is wrong.
Are these the shoes you're talking about? Loathe them!
You can't be a Manic Pixie Dream Girl because it is, by definition, a two dimensional character. It doesn't matter what quirky qualities or vulnerabilities you have, you are a fully-fledged three dimensional human being which is the exact opposite of a Manic Pixie Dream Girl. It's a character, a human simply can't be…
This photo just made me feel shameful about how I stand with my boyfriend.
The lips make her look like she's really cold.
As a woman with large breasts, I'm with you 100%. If you're small chested, you can pull off necklines like this and still look classy, but if you're big chested it just looks tacky, I don't care who you are.
