New cars are heavy. My 2014 WRX with AWD and loads of off road modifications comes in under 3500lbs. My WRX had 4 doors, a hatch, and AWD and compared to the Z which has none of those. I can’t for the life of me understand why it weighs so much.

I will say the passenger seat is a lot more cramped that the drivers seat in an ND. You lose a lot of legroom on the passenger side.
Paco Motorsports make a seat bracket that removes the seat rails and lowers the seat by 1.5 inches. Only down side is that it takes a bit more to adjust it forward and back. Not as easy as pulling a lever, but if you’re the only one driving your car it’s not a huge deal. I installed them on mine just so I can pass the…
I’m pretty much the same geometry. 34" inseam. Maybe nut as much in the femurs, but still long legs.
I’m 6' 2" and I fit in my ND just fine. I’ve taken it on 1000+ mile road trips without an issues. If you want more room, the NC is the roomiest Miata out there, and a NC2, contrary to what everybody wants you to believe, is a fantastic little sportscar.
I am Subaru fan, at least for me I’m not even looking for one. Pretty disappointed by the 2022 WRX. Part shortage or not.
If it is going to be around $35k, I will put my money where my mouth is and buy one. If it’s closer to $40k, I’m probably still going to buy it, but might have to wait a little while to save up a bit more.
I’m a massive Subaru fan. I’ve owned a Subaru for the past 10 years now. I’ve had my WRX hatchback for 8 years now and it is one of those cars that I will keep for life and never sell. I’ve been pretty disappointed by the WRXs and STis that have come since the 2008-14 generation, especially the newest one. My biggest…
Three very different cars, but all awesome! A lifted 2014 WRX hatch, 2016 ND Miata, and my most recent addition 2021 Bronco Black Diamond with the 7 speed manual!
Don’t worry. Even when they do complete them it still takes ages to get them to customers. My Bronco has been “shipped” for the past 2 months and in that time it has made it Kansas City from Michigan. At this rate I could have driven it home faster than it has taken to ship, which mind you, home is Arizona, so not a…
Came here to say this. Mazda’s current lineup is amazing! Heck, even the Miata is pretty nice for what it is. The couple of times that I have given coworkers a ride in my ND, they commented on how nice and premium the interior felt. I feel like there is very little at the price point that Mazda operates in that is…
Not sure if the car is more expensive or the dollar is just worth less. When I bought my WRX new 8 years ago, I wound up paying less than $30k out the door. Mine was also a premium trim level and a hatch. Feel like I got a pretty good deal!
Yeah, I have a VIN and the truck is technically built. It has been stuck in the “shipped” status for the past 2 months now.
First day reservation holder here. Still waiting for my Bronco to arrive.
Yeah... It’s what makes a Subaru a Subaru...
Can’t say I was that lucky with my drivetrain in WRX. I bought it new and at 38k miles, the number 4 rod bearing decided it no longer wanted to exist. Luckily I was able to get Subaru to cover it after much arguing. I later found out that there was a bad batch of bearings that were out of tolerance that would lead to…
I bought mine new in 2014 after I learned that there was going to be no more hatchback for the next generation. I love the look of the widebody WRXs and STIIs. I’m glad Subaru decided to add the widebody to the WRX in 2011 because it looks so much better with it!
I have a 2014 WRX Hatch. It is a flawed vehicle, but I think that is why I love it. Are there cars out here that are easier to work on? Sure. Does it have a lot of turbo lag? Yep. Does it make no power below 3500rpm? Yeah. But the car has character, and the engine sounds nothing like anything else on the road. It…
Pretty sure the M600 used a twin turbo version of the engine out of the XC90. That 4.4L V8
That is absolutely crazy. I’m getting a new Bronco which at $41k is the most expensive new vehicle that I have bought. The fact that the average is another $6k above that is hard to believe. Crazy times.
