Yeah, basically Blofeld’s plan just didn’t work. As he said, “If i hit the right spot” then X will happen. Clearly he didn’t hit the right spot. If he had some more time, he may have messed Bond up quite bad, but Bond managed to set his “alarm” in time to prevent that.
