@scootly: Because consumers are trained by commercials, so as soon as T-Mobile started calling their HSPA+ 4G, people start coming into stores asking about "them 4G's phones ya'll have. What? Well, T-Mobile's got 'em and they're CHEAPER THAN YA'LL!"

@cinnamonster: Any phone running LTE for the next 3-5 years will require fallback on the 3G network for that carrier. So Apple won't be able to make a single iPhone that works on Verizon and AT&T, unless they use a chipset that includes both CDMA and GSM (UMTS/HSPA) specifications.

Someone must read Lifehacker and got a little nervous about that blowout HiveFive :).

@fauxtronic: 320cbr files are exactly what this is targeted at, since it does not remove any quality from the file, rather the empty filler bits inserted to keep the bitrate at that constant. You'd notice a solid drop in file size, and IDENTICAL fidelity.

@danielblakes: It's not an actual transcode. What the program is doing is looking for all of the "filler bits" that a CBR encode pads in to fill to the constant bit rate number, and removing those when applicable. Assuming the program is made by someone who knows what they're doing (and Hydrogen Audio certainly

@fauxtronic: If your master copies are in mp3 form, you've already made a fatal error.

@repeet: As in... the metadata tags set up in iTunes don't transfer seemlessly to Zune, so my entire library is jacked up (70k+ songs) and I don't feel like retagging them by hand.

Could probably mock up a frame from plywood and 2x4's if you were going to use it more frequently. Would keep it from flexing.

@Horusz: Meet the new boss... same as the old boss...

@know1: Windows doesn't come out with a new version every several months, and I'm not tied to the hardware manufacturer to get the upgrades when they DO come.

Or wait for the server farm to be built in NC and cloud iTunes to be deployed :D.

@yreka: No, but they can't get anywhere on the road they're cycling on. It's not people cycling to go place to place, its for exercise or training (see a lot of speed suits).

What if the cyclist is insisting on riding down a 2 lane road with no shoulder, when there is a serviceable 50 mile loop designed specifically for biking a few miles away? I had never had road rage until then.

@NaraVara: But it's MOAR BIGGER!!! Who cares about that "clarity" stuff when you can blow it up the size of a car?

@MugsTheGreat: Got slashdotted.... er, gizzed.... er... right .

@Baron Von Crogs: Exactly. I'm worthless for at least an hour after I wake up, no matter how much sleep I have. Once the sun goes down? I've been up for 20 hours and could go lift right now. Then pass out in my car on the way home.

@ericesque: If we were on Gizmodo I'd promote myself :D. Don't post as much on LH; and it seems harder to get starred here anyway.

...and if you're not a morning person your workout will be crap and you'll not get the full benefit. The difference is generally pretty negligible, but if you're perfectly flexible, yes, it'll be better for you.

@TekWarren: Need to have the Meebo notifier installed. Small program, installs to the taskbar.

Haven't used Trillian in years, and am perfectly happy with Meebo (web client that shuts off phone notifications when I'm signed on? Thank you!). I can't see how I would pay $5 for this when Meebo is free.
