The Sky Pad is a great bit of equipment. I love my technology, although it has its quirks I usually manage to find my way around them. Lots of people ask me if it is actually real and when it goes wrong it proves it is. I find it such an essential tool to have to go into the details you need to for really analysing

There are too many to single one out. In terms of an experience I would say driving an F1 car for the very first time is a lasting memory. It was a BAR 030 at Vairano. That was so cool. But in terms of achievement, the Formula Ford Festival win in 2000 was a really special day.

I get asked this a lot, but no, driving a road car is so far removed from driving on the circuit in a purpose built car that there’s no comparison, which means you don’t relate the two experiences at all.

No I haven’t , and I’m an atheist. But I’m willing to give it a try. There are loads of good places to eat around Austin, it’s an amazing city,

Le Mans is an incredible atmosphere from start to finish and the fans really make it, along with its history. But we have seena few WEC races this year with a lot of support from the fans, particularly Silverstone and Nurburgring.

Although Le Mans is still my main target in portdcar racing, I never realised before winning the World Championship how much it would mean to me.. And at the end of the day, for a driver, Le Mans is just one race whereas winning a championship means winning multiple races in all kinds of circumstances that you don’t

Although the technology involved in WEC is extremely high, Formula 1 still leads the way in its innovation and R&D infrastructure. There are far more people working in the F1 industry which always speeds up progress. But it’s always interesting to compare the two

Hybrid technology,it is moving on at such a rate that it is fascinating to be a driver at this time watching the transition happen before your eyes. If someone had told me back in 2002 after driving an F1 car for the first time that one day I would be driving a hybrid racing car I would never have believed it.

That’s a good question going into this weekend at COTA. You do have drink in the car howver it is very easy to forget to drink when you ae focused on droving and at the end of the day I’m a bloke so I can’t multi task.

For me Formula 1 is still the pinnacle of motorsport and therefore for a driver it is always fascinating but I would only go back if I was given the car to do the job. I have no interest in driving round in the midfield any more. On top of that at theage of 36 I feel I am in my prime as a sportscar driver nnd I would

Probably my biggest challenge working for Sky was when I had to use the Sky Pad solo for the first time back in 2013. Certainly easier for me to drive a racing car than to talk about it

Racing i still very much my top priority and main focus, however I do enjoy the punditry work for Sky TV and it’s a completely different avenue, perhaps something I will pursue more one day when my racing career has come to an end

In racing the car is the drug so there is very little an athlete can do to increase performance, particularly in a six hour race but we do get tested and it’s as fowned upon in our sport as any other discipline

A million bucks would be a bargain for a WEC season with an LMP1. The flipside of pushing the boundries of technology inevitably brings costs
