Ah, missed the edit window - I wanted to add that Pepsi and Coca-Cola are such well known brands that they almost don’t have to advertise anymore (what did I read? People who don’t speak English still know the names Elvis, Jesus, and Coca-Cola?). They still do because it’s good business.

FWIW I’d heard of Red Bull before it became widely known here in the States because I’d seen it mentioned in British magazines (I used to read a lot of imported car and music magazines back in the 80's and 90's). So they were fairly well known outside of the states by the time they had their racing team, etc.

House, only House is replaced with Bertie Wooster

Just jumping off from your post here, but a question: Do summerweight clothes not exist where any of you live? I get that a lot of people (and men in particular) don’t like to shop for clothes, but for Pete’s sake there are options out there instead of wearing the same things you wore all winter. You won’t be as

I loved Sick Kookaburra’s first two albums, but then the electric triangle player left and it all went downhill from there.

It’s something that smart people on sitcoms have, so of course he has a chess set.

I think she’s unhappy enough in her marriage that the idea that she divorces her husband so she can live a life that’s not defined as “Mrs. Wheeler, Wife and Mom” is plausible.

FWIW, I don’t think that if the sign suddenly flashed “YOU MUST TURN”, that it would solve anything, because people in general don’t think that any of these things are meant for them. Guy in a rented Ryder truck who hasn’t bothered to know the dimensions of the truck before setting off is going to think that there’s a

In the time before digital photography, drones, GoPros, etc., things were different. I always assumed that those folks put themselves in dangerous positions because that was the only way to get the picture they wanted.

I like the cut of your jib.

No, but he does love those elbow noodles with the cheese. Hate to lose the people who make that.

Not the same person, but I grew up in the Chicago area, and I can tell you that 80’s Japanese cars, especially the earlier ones, melted like sugar cubes after a few winters. The last one I can recall seeing in regular use was a coworkers ‘85-ish Accord in about 1999, and it was more rust than metal by then.

It just occurred to me that the official Tesla truck rendering just looks like what some designer back in 1966 might’ve done as a “futuristic” version of the Dodge A-100. Just needs to say “Little Red Wagon” down the side.

I mean, you’re not really wrong about the rest of that lot. But you sure can tell who el Queso Grande is!

This scans. The sign on the building as he’s leaving says “AIP” - American International Pictures went out of business in 1980 but I imagine the sign might’ve hung around the back of the building for another few years.

Did you not see the Rolls?

I was thinking the same thing - I’d much rather have a Mk.1 than 2.

They’re actually still making them. They’re only broadcast on an terrestrial station that you can’t get unless you have an old television with a rabbit ear antenna. Every so often they slip a new one into the syndication rotation.

Either that or they’re trying to make it a buddy story. Which would be worse, IMO.
