Change your gender to male. Seriously. When I was set as a woman all the ads were babies, birth control, and diet pills. Switched to male and BAM! suddenly all the ads were based on my interests or things I clicked on. Advertisers are sexist.

The MARC is also only about $8/ticket, too. There’s even a free bus service that goes to most places tourists would be interested in. Seriously underrated day trip from DC. The Walters Art Museum is free, they have the American Visionary Arts Museum, as well as tons of smaller theaters, funky little cafes, etc.

The African American History Museum is worth the trip. It’s just so well done. They have timed passes available online every morning at 6:30am. I recommend setting an alarm, nabbing tickets, then going back to sleep. The line to get them in person is ridiculous, and everyone I know who hasn’t gotten them months in…

People do say DMV, but they’re generally the short-term types who come for a couple years and leave. They only talk to people in the same boat and never realize how awful and touristy it makes them sound. They’re also the sort who like to say no one is from DC.
