Yeah, I’m not sure why OP is getting flack in the first place, because his story is makes perfect sense. You go see a house that looked good in the listing, and as soon as you walk in, you know it’s not for you. But despite knowing he didn’t need to check out every corner, because he wasn’t considering buying it, he

I thought Land Rover Evoque when I saw the header image. Which is not something that’s really a positive connotation to me, but slightly better than the old Venza, which to me was a flashing billboard screaming “I’ve given up on life.”

Yup, great way of putting it.

This is such a great example of a very particular type of “lipstick on a pig” crack pipe.

Exactly. If you’re in a state that has safety or emissions inspections, this is just 100% a hard pass. In other states, people may drive thousands of miles with a CEL if it’s not keeping the car from driving down the road.

Ah, good point. I hadn’t even thought of that aspect of it. But the point is the same - they are using a big number to make buyers think they’ve thoroughly vetted the car, but really they’ve just given the most superficial of evaluations.

Yeah, whenever I see dealers advertising 150-point inspections (whether for CPO or just as their “our cars are great quality”), I think about how long it would take to do a thorough inspection of 150 or 200 or however many items they claim they’ve checked. This leads me to the conclusion that most of their items are

That’s why I voted CP. if you want a manual 2-seater convertible, Miata is the way to go. The potential maintenance on this is brutal.

Yes, I too could not not get to the bottom to mash the NP button quickly enough. Several cars this week that I would legit consider buying. This is one of them.

Yeah, maybe I’m just hopelessly nostalgic at this point, but a paint job like this is charmingly retro kitsch to me. A memory of the days when 50 shades of silver and white weren’t what constituted “variety” in car colors.

Agree 100% — good analysis.

Yeah, I mean....it’s only been two months. And while that’s felt like an eternity, it’s not nearly long enough to see things fully filter through the economy. Especially because there is still a TON of uncertainty about how this plays out.

This is a much better wagon than the BMW 3er from this morning’s NPoCP. Will probably have similar maintenance costs too.

Completely agree.

Agreed. Tesla has miles to go before they get to the “mid-trim Volkswagen” interior level. They’re not even in the ballpark of the S class

Yeah, I like the e46 but BMW sold so many of them that they’re just not worth that much.

That’s partly why I voted CP. With the rep of this generation to have cooling issues, that’s a red flag.

Tasty!

Yup, I was a dangerous moron at that age. I was driving at 115 mph, bouncing my car off the limiter, weaving through traffic. One move from another driver that I wasn’t expecting, and I probably would have been roadkill, along with some innocent person/people unlucky enough to share the road with me. I think of it

Yes, they seem to have fixed the issues, at least on iOS/Chrome.
