I didn’t have that problem so often with ZipCar (although got plenty of cars smothered in pet hair despite their allegedly strict “clean up after your pets or get charged big $$$” policy). The thing I had a bigger problem with was people not bringing the car back on time and delaying the start of my trip, and also havi…
I had never heard of gig car before - the ability to make one-way trips is a huge usability boost over zipcar’s round trip requirement.
If historical GM decision making is any guide, we can assume that shared car rental services like this will be a massive business within the next couple years.
I have found that Trader Joe’s produce (especially berries) has an astoundingly short shelf life. Perhaps I’ve just had particularly bad luck, but TJ’s berries seem to mold within 2 days of bringing them home. I’ve never had such problems with berries from other stores.
How did I forget the center consoles!?!??!
Lol that too
Yeah...if a majority of dealer stock was purchased at pre-Corona price levels (and I suspect it was), dealers are going to wait before they give themselves a 10% (or whatever) haircut.
Yup. Same reason the Q8 exists.
I just have never had any desire to own or drive a convertible. From my earliest years of loving cars, they never appealed to me.
I think you’re generally right about all that. I also think that examples from the 996 generation of 911s are getting into the sub-$20k range (at least for higher mileage examples).
Yeah, the poor fuel economy from the Festiva really undercut it vs the metro I think. I don’t know what sales numbers were, but I recall metros outnumbering Festivas on the road about 10 to 1 where I lived.
Really helpful data and analysis. Thanks for posting.
Couldn’t they do a RWD only model as the base? Seems like that would be an easy way to cut costs and differentiate between the two lower specs (without greatly cutting the battery size).
I had to go to the Porsche page to see how the Panamera models are broken down. (Side note: hot damn there are like 15 different Panamera models.)
Yeah, it’s pretty silly. The things that people are going to unload at a massive discount are things that don’t have a lien on them. So I would expect in a few months (if the economy stays in the shitter) that all manner of “toys” will be available at massive discounts: guitars, stereo equipment, snowmobiles, boats…
Yeah, where I’m at, the buyer in the average real estate sale is asking themselves “how much over the asking price do we have to bid to stay in the process to the second round, while leaving some room in our budget so we can push the bid higher in the next round or two?”
Exactly this. A well-done silver can look great. But it’s dominates too much of the market (and most of the silvers out there are not striking examples of the color).
I’d assume the upholstery is that fucked
This gets at some of my concerns. You’d also need a way for the exterior of the shell to be protected so that it didn’t scratch/rub while resting in the bed. And to the extent that the inside of the shell had any grooves, crevices, or folding surfaces, sealing those off from dirt, grime, water and so on, so that it…
