you're a teacher, and you say there are no pictures? Think again...or you just have the most trustworthy students EVER.
oh sweet god. Embrace me, for we are sisters.
I was a teen in the eighties. The entire decade was a beauty disaster. Where to start? The blush applied with a "contour brush?" The multi colored eyeshadow? The ungroomed brows? The crunchy hair? The year I "went goth?" (1985-1986)
Scientology is against any form of psychiatry, so they're actually in the same boat as Maher. We need people to base their beliefs and politics on the science, rather than base their science on their belief and politics. Maher's suspicion of vaccines is anti-corporatism run amok, just like the right-wing's denial of…
I know, right? People are always like, "Aww that song's so good!" and I'm just like, "Please never talk to me again."
I think that stuff belies his true hypocrisy. He loves taking religious people to task for, in his eyes, basing beliefs upon myth and speculation. But how is he in a position to critique? He actively discourages people from vaccinating, especially when it comes to the flu vaccine. He openly promotes all manner of…
That was truly blinding. Good call.
You should have been here in last 2 weeks, we had sideways snow.
You're grand so, the main issue most people have with moving to rural Ireland is how far from amenities you can be and the state of the roads. Personally I either need to be within walking distance of everything or have an actual farm, I don't see the point otherwise. Word of warning the internet in rural areas is…
The weather is a biggie. But east Ireland is much calmer and as a dual citizen, I will spend later years there. Much better weather than Scotland too. Ta for the chat.
The weather is cold and wet a lot of the time but if you're cool with animals rural life might suit you, a friend of my mother's lives in one of those unwisely built houses in the middle of nowhere in Cork and she regrets it because she has kids and while they can walk to primary school they're looking at 20 minutes…
I LOVE THOSE PEOPLE. Seriously Wicklow is my favourite place in Ireland. Close to Dublin, with a cafe culture and the locations of Excalibur for walking and wildness. Say hi to your friends for me!
There is no meth culture - yet - but there is a pharmacy prescription deal going on in more isolated places across Ireland and the UK and maybe other places in Western Europe. Our prescriptions are heavily subsided by the government so maybe that is why. And a hash culture because of the massive coastlines. Coke…
I think the difference between LA and rural Ireland is too much to bridge in a single move. Roads to rural areas in Ireland are outrageously narrow and sometimes you have to top to let a herd of cows cross the road, the greyness would be least of your worries.
If I lived in an isolated Irish town I would wander the moors all day writing melancholy but hopeful poetry. (I haven't been to one of those since I was three, though.)
I lived there briefly in my mum's town when younger and holy christ - you make your own entertainment. And every man I met was my distant relative. Love the place but if people living there full time they need to do what they can. Usually it was tramadol and a nice cava. Or maybe that is just my family hahaha.
Depending on how small the town is they could have activities on in the parish hall like Pilates or Zumba and for some reason line dancing is really popular among ladies of a certain age, I would do that kind of thing before resorting to bingo. But yeah so much seasonal affective disorder when it's grey for months on…
"After being the only girl in bands for 10 years, I learned—the hard way—that if I was going to get my ideas through, I was going to have to pretend that they—men—had the ideas."
