I just want it noted that I'd have about 800 likes by now if this were io9. Because nothing plays on io9 like a PoI reference, for some reason.

I’d be more aghast if I wasn’t 100% convinced from watching too much Person of Interest that the US is doing this already.

Let’s get to the important info - what pattern will the red lights make to indicate a hardware failure???

The entire clone wars series is great. The animation is fantastic, but the storyline gets kind of repetitive. Still fun to watch.

Living on Mars is going to suck. The trip out west sucked too. And you had to sell much of your earthly possessions to put together the resources for a viable wagon and ox setup to get there. But people did it, because people like to go new places even if half of your family dies of Dysentery on the way there. And

When you surrender yourself to the Muskmentarians you are guaranteed a perfect life of serenity, love, and loving serenity.

“We’re creating a process of indentured servitude on Mars, and establishing a libertarian caste system based entirely off of debt!”

to me this looks somewhat like this:

Call me cynical but I was relieved that it was just a polite conversation to stop it. Figured from the pic and poor use of the word “hijack” that it was a black man doing something security didn’t like and we know how that tends to go (tackling, beating, shooting, etc.).

Thank god, now all I’ll need is my PC and watchever nintendo console that is out.

Man, never underestimate capitalists’ abilities to monetize youth movements, while maintaining status quo on its’ capital. Look at the tech industry for precedence. Fifteen or so years ago it was all about teen angst. Silicon Valley in 2005 was awash with low EQ teenage boys in hoodies disrupting shit, moving fast

Phew, Thank God I’m on XP

Windows 7 support Is Officially Dead

No one running windows 7 gives two shits what other people think. They would rather be vulnerable to hackers and security holes than worry about Microsoft bricking the entire office with a bullshit update.

How come that it barely made it to the news and people both in Iraq and Iran already had all the necessary protest paraphernalia ready and on hand and also were already on the street???

And Iran actually admitted it within a week, unlike the US.

I definitely agree that this mistake could have had the silver lining of having actually saved the world from a terrible war, but for one thing we’re not out of the woods yet.

All of this was set in motion when the turks conquered constantinople in the 15th century

There was a possibility that our forces in Iraq could have decided to use the opportunity to use the known incoming missiles as a live-fire test of our counter measures and somehow mistook the airline as one of the Iranian missiles. The other possibility was that Boeing screwed up again, which is never really out of
