You ever witnessed a gaggle of LS3 Miatas on track? It’s like the Three Stooges on ice.
No parts from an SBC will interchange with an LS. They are most certainly not the same engine.
That’s really sad that people can’t tell the difference between a small block Mopar and a small block Chevy. This is one of many reasons why it makes no sense to build a car to impress other people. Build it for yourself. You’re the one who has to be happy with it.
Camaro V6's (LFx) are fantastic for roadrace/track duty — super lightweight, compact for weight distribution, etc. LSx usually overpowers lighter chassis so the V6 is wayyyy underrated.
“I like people going through the extra effort to swap weird and unusual motors.”
This is the problem with these takes though. YOU aren’t paying for that swap. YOU aren’t living with that swap. YOU aren’t having to deal with the integration hassles of that swap. Everyone wants someone else to foot the bill to put an…
Vote was 8 to 7...but she will, in fact be missed!
You are gonna trust DT’s rust riddled brain on something this important?
I like the LFX too. They seem harder to come by than the LS. I’ve been toying with the idea of an LFX swap into my IS300. One real benefit is the integral exhaust manifold which makes fitment easier.
His mustang could run r compounds without a dry sump because even with r compounds he likely only had comparable grip to a C6 with 200 rated tires.
I’m not sure where you are seeing so many ls engines pop, but my ls6 never had any issues on track. Same can be said for the dry sump cars with the bigger canister.
It has 1 moving part, not moving parts, thus not an engine and therefore doesn’t qualify for this list of engines. You lose. Good day, sir.
The LS is at least as qualified as any of the motors listed here. I don’t get the LS hate. It makes good power, it’s light weight, simple. Can be easily shoe-horned into just about any chassis.
Cool, but it still isn’t an engine, hence it is not on the list.
This is a motor. The list is of engines. Motors are not engines.
Nah, Sorry.
If Porsche competed in NASCAR, would the IMS decision have any bearing on race attendance?
If only there was some tie in between the Ford and the subject matter...
No need to apologize, but I accept with open arms! *drool*
