I have a ‘09 135i and it is hands down the best all-around car I’ve ever owned, from among a 328, 981 cayman and Golf R. (I didn’t include the Chevy Sonic, because....yeah.) I’d imagine the 128i is also great to drive even with less HP and Torque.
