Thank you because the video seems to have been pulled...

your battery is low.

You mad, bro? I think you mad. I think he mad. He mad.

i would also refer to you the concept of Traffic Calming consists of 3 E's. Engineering, Education, and Enforcement. Making his 'no signage' proposition not viable.

I don't think we should soully rely on driver's confidence to set all speed limits. I am well aware of the 85% someone else mentioned, but that only covers differentials between vehicles getting into an accident. It doesn't handle other objects very well. And as soon as you redesign a road, speeds may decrease

Thank you. I am very familiar with this theory (I looked into while thinking of challenging a highway ticket myself, though I will point out that its a 'theory').

Sure, I could set one artificially low enough to prevent all accidents. 0MPH. But that's not what I'm suggesting. I'm suggesting that a "few" on a single day seems like the indication something is wrong. Obviously some are going to happen the minute a car starts moving. All we're talking about a matter of degree.

"And probably with few or no collisions..." So a "few" on a single day would've been OK? "Probably" no accidents this day, but that does not automatically mean its definitely artificially low (you seem convinced!). See k5ing's response for just 2 recent examples.

Signage wouldnt matter? Then how would an outsider know what reasonable? So, by your extension, there would be no need for speed limits anywhere? And everyone would drive reasonable in school zones and dangerous roads? And everyone would stop for people in crosswalks? And don't worry about the kids running into the

In a vacuum, I'd say they both are wrong. There are many factors at play here though (residential, senior center, road design, etc.)

Thats not a very popular opinion around these parts. You're a brave person.

Thank you for coming the closest to actually addressing the OPs questions instead of spouting guesses about CO levels.

With all that speeding:

Just admit it, you like being a nitpicker

Happened to me the other day.

Now you may have been proved right Mr ATC, but in so far as the letter of the law is concerned, you were both right - and you were also both wrong. This is the dilemma that will occupy this blog, this ATL, and this country's pilot forces as a whole long after you leave this room.
