It also didn’t say “older sister”.

I read the link you provided and it didn’t say Rachel was one of the victims. It did say there was another person whose name has been redacted.
Wait, you forgot, “I’m going natural...my hair is a 4!”
Ew. I missed that when glancing over Ariana Grande’s name. Usually Melanie just goes by her first name.
“Look What They’ve Done to My Song” is by the fabulous Melanie
This is exactly what I have been thinking, and yet everyone on Jez seems to be eating up this black/white, good/bad narrative... I have been wondering about the mom here. Her reaction seems really weird. Also, I don’t understand why everyone is assuming that all of the kids & parents are assholes. Any teacher can tell…
Ok
Thank you! I have a family member on the NPD spectrum, and she suffers from extremes of self aggrandizement and total lack of self-worth. Her downward spirals are horrible to watch. By the way, her mother was extremely cold and withholding of praise.
It sounds like you don't need a study on this because your mom had it right! It took me decades to realize that artists actually WORK and PRACTICE because my parents had so thoroughly ingrained in me the idea that some people are just born great, period.
DILBERT.
Thanks! I LOVE Iggy, but when I went to buy it, I was sad to learn that the book starts at $55 on Amazon-used! I'll have to check my public library....ha.
THANK YOU for the link to the bell hooks video. Fascinating!
I totally agree! Listening to her book was so great, and she has loads of guest stars and funny bits that couldn't be done in print. My only complaint was that it was too short.
Exactly. As a female musician who lived in Bellingham in the early 90's, I was not influenced by the Olympia scene because I didn't think the musicians I heard were very good. Not surprised at all that Grohl left them out.
