My dealer wouldn’t do the update that fixed a security exposure with the USB inputs when I asked them to. The car was still under warranty. It was a surreal conversation. What’s wrong? There’s a security exposure with the USB ports and the newest software fixes it. But what’s not working? Someone can ... if they can

One of the scariest things I ever had happen while driving was shoe-related, but it was a pair of flats, not heels. The back of the left shoe slipped off my foot as I was releasing the clutch. The back of the shoe dropped down and got caught in a tear in the floor mat that I hadn’t noticed. The front part of the shoe w

Dude is spinning you a tale. An offer, sure. Not at all uncommon for top picks. But those are always contingent on the degree. Apple would have the kid in for multiple highly paid internships and hire him straight out of college, possibly with a signing bonus. If they wanted him ASAP they’d try to arrange something

Two graduated according to the complaint against the parents - a fascinating and horrifying read. One from Georgetown and the other from (I think) USC.

Cali resident but not expert on admissions.

I read the entire 204 page doc of the parent indictments. In almost all cases, it seemed like the kids did not know. Only one showed the indicted parent’s daughter as being present in any conversation with the guy. (Sorry, he is called CW-1 throughout and I don’t recall his actual name.)

Spoilers ...

I loved it. Biggest complaint is that some scenes are literally so dark that I couldn’t see anything. (My brother saw it in a different theatre and had the same complaint.)

I had to change my federal exemption from 1 to 0 and then have extra withheld for the last three months of the year. That was just to get me into the under-withholding safe harbor. (This was before it was relaxed...)

It absolutely is adjustable. I have a 2014 Mazda 3 with rain sensing wipers. They use the same dial as the manual intermittent to set the interval, then a software toggle to swap between manual and automatic mode. Same on the 2016 Miata and 2017 Mazda 6.

It's easy to say that people are more important than property when it's not your property that was taken or damaged. Obviously the kids shouldn't be punished excessively but why should the dealer or their insurance company bear the cost of this vandalism? At a minimum, sue the parents to recoup from their insurance

An Illegal turn turns into chase through downtown San Jose and ends in two injured children and one dead child.

All of the Tovolo silicone & stainless line. My favorite spatula is actually their jar scraper. I really like the long narrow surface (about half the width of a regular spatula) and use it for more than just getting 100pct out of jars.

I never had rust on my 2000 Miata, which was in California until two years ago and is now in Texas with my brother (still no rust).

In New Zealand I only had one real problem: the wiper and turn signal controls were swapped. I kept turning on the wipers whenever I went to signal a turn. Then the same again at first when I got home.

But it seems that there were no problems for 27 years. Did the restaurant change something? New fan, possibly stronger or in new location? New all-garlic all-the-time menu?

When my now-ex ran the red light in my 1972 Datsun 240z at 45 mph, the insurance company offered to give me $1 less than the total-out value and keep it if I wanted to repair it.

You just HAD to bring that up, didn't you.

I’m kind of curious why they can’t do background checks on actors. A quick search indicates some limits on what can be reported in California, which is a ban-the-box state, but background checks are generally legal. Why would it be different for actors specifically? I can’t find an answer to that.

Since we are talking about generalities...
