Edible Woman is so great.

Jesus, if you’re going to make kids wear fucking t-shirts over their swimsuits, MAYBE JUST DON’T HAVE A POOL PARTY AT ALL. How unpleasant.

If I were Canadian, I might be more hopeful, too.

I freaking LOVE “The Edible Woman”!

Anybody* who breaks the law...

I was was flipping through Wilderness Tips the other day and came upon one story that game me a lot of hope (I unfortunately forget which one). It begins with a woman at breakfast with her husband, who is extremely worried about Bush Sr’s latest actions. The story feels dark and oppressive, but helped me put the

I agree. Anybody who breaks the law should be shot at because, “don’t break the law!”

I’m far from the most literate guy in the world; i’ve got reading comprehension issues and attention deficit in spades. It took me years to finally settle in to try and tackle Atwood’s books, expecting a dry, humorless, but ultimately “good-for-me” read. Her satirical humor and her clear affection for humanity -

The Handmaid’s Tale is required reading (I’d also strongly recommend The Edible Woman and the Robber Bride) but man, Margaret Atwood has been the epitome of ‘yr fav is problematic’ lately.

The thing I love most about her are how complete her worlds are - it’s a lot like Black Mirror today, where the tiny, near-future details (mentioned only in passing/background) like the light switches or the ovens have all being carefully considered and thought through, and all make sense as a whole.

One answer to the slander that this is for “privileged” women is linked below.

Yea, I find it so interesting that these commenters have so much to say about how “bougie” this strike is, but forget that they are commenting on a page about female educators striking. Last time I checked teachers are underpaid and overworked, so you know super fucking bougie. I understand that for the most part

Oh for crying out loud.

Kinda smacks of the “welfare queen” myth doesn’t it?

I was a single mom for about 4 years, and in order to keep my job I had to get a government subsidy to cover the costs of childcare. I worked, I paid taxes, I just couldn’t afford the ridiculous costs of daycare (and I worked as a preschool teacher, I know why those costs are so high.)

Nice to see the detective for her legal team is willing to let Casey pay him in sex since she currently has no income. What an understanding soul.

Or to put it another way,

God bless you. I’m at work and can’t view the video. And, regardless of where i am, i can’t stand lazy “journalism” that only links to someone else’s video and hard work.
