Better? That’s real water right there! Not some ribbon dancing cheater move!

I want responsible public servants that understand that they are flying giant machines that can crash into the people they are trying to save.

There’s something called TFR (Temporary Flight Restrictions) over the area. News helicopters stay outside of the TFR, and are in communication with ATC and other aircraft to make sure they don’t bump into anyone. Drones, here, aren’t obeying the TFR. If the TFR is violated, the airspace isn’t safe for helicopters

The news helicopters are much farther away from the action than the firefighting helicopters.

News helicopters are at a much higher altitude.

Bit Easier to zoom in with a camera than it is with a water bucket.

A little ass drone can fuck up a helicopter’s rotors and send the whole thing crashing down.

Because the drone could crash into the helicopter, damage it, and cause all 9500 litres of water w/ bonus helicopter to fall into the fire.

Nobody said it would be done for shits and giggles. Drones should be shot down if they are being assholes about it by flying near a wildfire.

Aside from the fact that it would be stupid to take the risk, the drones they are dealing with are not of the little Toys R Us variety:

Do you really need to “understand” them? All you need to understand is that it’s an object, and as long as you know that objects can cause damage to a helicopter’s rotors, which is something I’m absolutely sure the pilots are aware of, you have all the information you need.

If you fly your drone over a wilfdfire to dick around, your drone gets shot down and you pay a $10,000 fine. Actually, I’m being too lenient there.

Man, I completely understand the impracticality of it, and I haven’t gone back to the books to re-read how accurate it is (for now, it’s sufficient that the author finds that depiction closer than the show’s), but every time I see the Iron Throne as a gigantic mountain of swords with a flight of stairs to climb before

Yes, I know this is what GRRM says the Iron Throne is supposed to look like, but to me it just looks like something out of a dark violent Dr. Seuss book.

Agreed. There were a lot of ways to talk about the abuse Harley suffers from the Joker without making her some fallen symbol of purity and innocence. There are ways to understand why she loves him (‘cause she does) and still have him be a very bad guy while she remains sympathetic. But they seem to not go that route,

I would never call Harley a “willing participant” in any depiction. The Joker always uses manipulation and psychological torture to drive her insane, there’s just not time enough in a film like this to show the gradual breakdown of her faculties. Also, there has never been a Joker/Harley depiction, not even BTAS,

Not a relevant comparison. People were unhappy with Ledger’s casting (me included) but the overwhelming consensus on seeing his performance (even in the first TDK trailer) was that he absolutely nailed it. I don’t recall any real uproar about Leto’s casting (he’s a fine, versatile actor), but the reaction to the look

I’m only contrasting what I felt about Leto in this trailer compared to my initial reaction to seeing Ledger in the first TDK trailer — i.e. not on Ledger’s entire performance (that would be unfair). Each to their own, of course, but Leto seems *to me* to be channelling ‘theater kid with grillz’, whereas even in TDK

Well, I would argue that he manipulated her and that muddies the definition of “willing participant”. But you’re right, this seems like a significant departure for the character, and there’s still a distinct difference between “tortured to the point of breaking” and “pushed a few fairly obvious buttons”.

I’m about 100% sure that the scene’s meant to be disturbing, not sexy.
