Are you me? I also find I’m just not attracted to/interested in ogling men. Like I can say a man is good looking, but I’m not going to be enamoured to him based off that. I never know how to respond when other women want to talk about male attractiveness. I thought I was weird.

I’m an alum and current student, and the way students and the university community responded to this whole thing disgusted me. I still hesitate to tell people where I go to school, and going to campus often made me a little sick to my stomach.

WHO TELLS A KID TO STOP EATING FRUITS???

Wow, I thought that was just part of the dress and the others were somehow hidden by bow poof. Ooops.

With you 100%. I can’t even fathom how people have oops babies with a story like “we were drunk and didn’t have a condom ¯\_(ツ)_/¯”. Lucky them for being able to experience such intense desire, I guess, but uhhh, no babies here thx.

Exactly! You just have to embrace the crazy.

Thank you, signed, a trying-to-stay-proud Floridian.

Yep, we didn’t do family ones but my mom took me to JC Penny every year to get pictures to send out.

Omg after seeing this I looked up and my cat was staring down at me from her tree with the same look on her face.

If he could also do that disappearing thing in country radio, that’d be okay.

For my dude, pretty much all lingerie is more work than its worth, which makes me a little sad because I think it could be fun. If I tried to wear any of these get ups, I imagine he’d be laughing too hard to pretend he liked it. I can’t even take away the wings on them and think “yeah that’d be nice”.

Yeah, I was told to use the elliptical for physical therapy and you have to be really cognizant of how you’re using it instead of just bouncing around for 30 minutes. It’s my machine of choice for a warm up if I don’t jog to the gym because it’s low impact but still raises your heart rate, but it’s not going to give

Yeah, at my school the grad students who teach often end up in a trial by fire situation. I can absolutely understand how a TA would not know how to handle this.

My friend used to have to TA for speech classes (in the past couple years) and a lot of political topics like that were not allowed, probably in part because the instructors were sick of listening to some of them. It definitely wasn’t a liberal bias because I remember they couldn’t give speeches about legalizing weed.

Right? People just make their own damn tester, so just have one!

I think it could be interesting to compile some of the answers people give to this, given the eye of the beholder idea.

Ha, it’s all very, very true. I am so grateful I didn’t have to deal with Instagram in high school or college because those accounts are literal highlight reels.

Yeah, that is a fair point and I did consider that, also!

I was just commenting to my niece about this. So many people leave the areas where their families live and it must make childrearing so much harder. I don’t know if you live far away from your extended family or if they simply aren’t supportive, but either way I think your observation is true.

One advantage I enjoyed: my dad was retired my whole life. My mom was partially retired most of my life. They were both lucky to be able to stop working full time earlier than many, but I guess this scenario only can apply if your parents are older!
