I’m not saddened by this news at all. As for a replacement, I hear Nicholas Meyer isn’t too busy these days.

I grew up in Kansas and, even before becoming a student at KU, I visited Lawrence and Kansas City a lot as a kid. This show was nightmare-inducing enough without seeing familiar landmarks being destroyed or falling into disrepair in the aftermath.

The review grade is fair, but all I care about is watching SNL regularly for the first time since the mid-90s. I’ll take uneven comedy just for a chance to laugh at everything going on.

I’m betting Alex Moffat, Mikey Day, and Melissa Villaseñor all get moved up from featured players to the main cast.
