Cool Brides?

The books are very flawed when it comes to action and advancing a plot. But GRRM is very good at characterization both male and female. His women are complex and respond to the world they were raised in. Which seems obvious but we all know it isn’t always.

I feel the same way. Even when parts of the book (and the show as well) make me look away—these characters are really well developed. I love all of the women in the series, because their motivations and actions seem very clear to me (except for Margaery and the Queen of Thorns, what are they up to!?). They are most

Seriously? Cersei won’t have Jaime in her bed again. Ever. It’s dealt with by the fact that he was her other half and he took from her what he wanted and now she can’t make that feeling go away. She will never love him the same. She sends him away.

I don’t know about the show, since I’ve heard it has innecessary rape and tits, but the books have some of the best written female characters I’ve read, that they happen to be in a sexist world doesn't mean that the content per se is sexist.

Disagree Sansa, but agree everything else. The scene (NOT rape) in the book between Jaime and Cersei was so much more powerful and important to character development and the show fucked it up hard.

Now playing

That and the lovely bit they all did for Comic Relief.
