That's way important, though. Remember when he got bitten? It shook the world to its core.

My husband and I once had drinks at Bar Bouchon in Beverly Hills, and Antonio Banderas was sitting at the next table. He was very low-key and acted like a regular person.
Everything is problematic on some level - encyclopedias, peer-reviewed journals, librarians (yes), and so on, ad nauseum. My point is that Wikipedia is really one the worst of the bunch, and if you need proof of that, just see the above article.
I met them both years ago at Space Camp when they brought their kids to camp. They both came themselves to check them in which kind of surprised me. They were the only celebrity parents (in my years there at least) who personally dropped off their kids and came to pick them up and attended the graduation as well. …
Nope. My personal #YesAllWomen post detailed that someone has attempted to rape me, I have been sexually assaulted on several occasions, and I so frequently encounter street harassment that I have pre-planned strategies for dealing with it. My post was pretty typical. It is just a fact that all of the perpetrators…
It is truly strange that you would think that sharing personal experiences of misogyny or how common it is generalizes an entire gender. If it doesn't apply to you, it doesn't apply to you. What is so hard about that?
Everything I was going to say, you just said better. Granted it sucks being lumped in with the slimeballs, but I cannot say I've never been one myself. In fact I was a total dirtbag in high school and some of my early college years. All and all that attitude and behavior was due to my issues with myself. I hate that…
The amazing thing is that they're still saying it, and they just CAN'T UNDERSTAND. They're still saying "But he killed men" "he hated everyone". HE SAID HE HATED WOMEN THAT IS WHY HE DID IT I CAN'T EVEN. Maybe he hated women so much in part because of mental health issues, I'm fully accepting of that explanation, but…
Thank you. Truly. I'm moved almost to the point of tears (no, not sarcasm, blame the pregnancy hormones). I keep trying to convince my husband that it doesn't take a man being a psychopath to do something that can make a woman feel very threatened and violated, but I don't think he really agrees. It means a lot to…
I'll be honest, I'm fucking exhausted from the last few weeks considering this shooting and hashtag. I don't know how many probably pointless internet arguments I've gotten into with MRAs and at this point I'm almost in tears thinking about it. I've told strangers about my sexual assaults IN DETAIL and still men don't…
This mostly just boils down to "change is scary". If the majority of men as a group had to actually acknowledge that women face adversity because of their gender, that would mean that they would have to change their ways of thinking. They wouldn't be able to bond by sharing jokes about women drivers, or 'fake nerd…
The problem is that even google searches are inaccurate: google will give different results to the same key words depending on your browsing history because they consider giving people results they disagree with to be bad customer service :/
"Notability" on Wikipedia is one of the best examples of how not objective the site can be.
And this brand of "editing" nonsense is why one of the first things that I taught my students in Freshman English was: NEVER use Wikipedia as a primary source. Those who have no interest in facts can and will find ways to control just about any page they like.
Wikipedia editors are a very incestuous bunch. It's really like a clique.
Must be the same guys who edit and re-edit the domestic violence page. It's ugly (and utterly misleading) over there. Ugh.
An excellent eg of wikipedia's gender bias.
