Budget yourself mentally based on your previous salary, not your newest one.

When I was just out of college and got a new, but low-paying, job I budgeted myself like I was still a college student (eat cheap, take the bus, inexpensive place to live, roommates if possible). When I got a raise from low-paying to average

Agreed. I didn’t understand the 2DS until a friend (with children) broke down how it made far more sense for his kid. It’s cheaper and harder to break. Yeah the screen can get scratched but a kid can play with a scratched screen...they can’t play on a 3DS that’s broken because they dropped it on the concrete.

I may have to retire this meal idea now that I’m a more mature man but my go-to date meal was enchiladas specifically because you can do it together. It’s also transportable in a pan.

It’s really just an update on the old Betty Crocker Enchilada recipe (note: it is not healthy) but you just add a bunch of fresh

> I doubt you’ll see a stand-alone console for old S/NES titles though... that just doesn’t make sense.

This is terrible and all I can say is...it seems like the state and the department are actually handling this...well? (which is to say adequately)

I mean there are so many instances of horrible police brutality that end in suspension/paid administrative leave/internal investigation that this, really just the baseline

I feel ya on this one. Having a poorly looked-after car (whether your fault or not) implies you don’t care as much for your possessions. That, to me, equates to a less careful driver.

The problem? My car has gotten just mercilessly dinged up since I bought it. It’s a ‘15 black honda fit so yeah the dings show up

I searched for a long time to find a case that was thin enough that I could do wireless charging through it (and still actually protect my phone).

I finally found one but sadly I found the same thing, the metal plate blocks charging anyways if you use a magnet mount. Which bums me out because I really wanted to be

Had a friend who worked at MS during the Vista launch and post-launch era (not on the OS team).

Best thing he told me was that far and above the biggest cause of BSOD’s was drivers. And mostly graphics drivers at that.

Apparently because all of the other versions of Windows had been so incremental the majority of the

> they could probably sell more Switch units by marketing a special “vintage” store that houses all of their most popular S/NES titles.

I mean the virtual console is pretty much that. You could buy most of the good S/NES titles for the Wii even, as well as some of the more popular N64 ones.

I mean you can look at it as

I’d say the bigger shame is that she opted to make so many of the extremity pieces yellow rather than blue so she looks like Bumblebee from the waist down.

Should have just done the bat symbol the belt and maybe the cape lining blue. The cowl sides/top and outer of the cape are the only blue things on that costume now.

I think they probably realized their massive fuckup was in not allowing you to buy more games for it to expand the library and keep making money.

If they’re smart they pulled it because they realized they could do so much better with a v2 that shipping more v1's might hurt their next gen of sales.

Ideally at E3 this

> “Typical that a girl statue gets criticized for finding success the same way a very masc bull statue did”

Yeah it is typical because the bull was criticized as well then eventually accepted. Your “masculine” bull and the feminine figure are receiving equal treatment save for the fact that there was already something

That’s a shame. For what it’s worth I wholeheartedly support families and individuals who want to keep their illnesses private. Some people want as much support as they can get when they are sick but not everyone is like that, for other’s it is a very private or at least familial issue.

Funny is that Glassdoor’s survey of half a million salaries found that their unadjusted wage gap was actually higher (~24%) but their adjusted wage gap was only 5.4%

I guess my point is that if someone who negotiates is seen as ‘bitchy’, ‘not nice’ etc would that not also affect their work?

I want to be clear that I agree it’s a social construct and part of how we raise people. But in the same way we teach men to be confident and make their voices heard are those not positives in

I dated a young woman who was a contract negotiator in the aeronautics industry. We talked a lot about economics and I bought up the point about negotiation being statistically less favorable for women.

Her point was interesting: negotiation was a part of her job duties and something she excelled at. Removing it from

It’s interesting how much office layout matters. At my old office I’d usually get home from work with ~8,000 steps. Our restroom was outside our restricted workspace, as were most of our meeting rooms, our drink area etc. Going between different floors wasn’t uncommon either.

We changed office spaces and my
