we SHOULD be INCLUDED in conversations regarding women, and being a black woman comes with challenges that white women sometimes do not acknowledge.
we SHOULD be INCLUDED in conversations regarding women, and being a black woman comes with challenges that white women sometimes do not acknowledge.
If you switch the focus of discussion from how black women are marginalized because of their sex/gender to the challenges they face because of race, then you’re derailing the conversation about misogyny or feminism(the movement for gender equality for all people).
White women make up greater percentage of the population than men of any other color. Isn’t the goal equal representation?
So you can’t explain how your point is relevant at all.
Intersectionality is necessary for understanding how and in what ways members of society face oppression and privilege but it absolutely has become a buzzword often used to derail conversation about feminism or misogyny. The fact that intersectionality is mostly or even exclusively applied in feminist…
The study also states that “76% of all female characters were White in 2016.
Ethnicity and sex are two different things, recognizing that doesn’t make your point any more relevant.
1) Stereotypes aren’t the same in every society/community/culture. 2)Stereotypes can also change, reduce in degree, or cease to exist at all. - Meaning they’re not static nor inevitable.
Your question is equally as relevant as, “Do hispanics and Asians share the same heritage?” If it wasn’t obvious, it’s not relevant at all.
This should’ve been directed at Mekki. I hate oppression olympics but I hate it even more when it’s an inaccurate premise, as in; when Mekki inaccurately starts the oppression olympics with statement like, “no other group has had such a network of conspiracies built around them over the centuries.”
It’s the people making racist/sexist/homophobic jokes that ruin the party.
Actually that incident shows how we can rid ourselves of it. That person, that studies and works on this, doesn’t control how everyone around them acts. If everyone was already doing what this person is saying we should do to prevent stereotypes then you may have a point but the rest of the world isn’t there yet. So…
Yes Jews do have disgusting dishonor directed at them but it really doesn’t compare to women. I’m with you on the conspiracies that are commonly directed at Jewish people and often in a casual way, as if it’s not hateful but let’s get real, what’s thrown at women is still, even in the most developed of the developed…
You still haven’t explained why intent would be different whether you’re coaching girls team or boys team.
Any difference between boys and girls has no relation to coaching them. I don’t think their genitals are needed for this activity, in fact the whole issue here is that their genitals are not to be of no concern.
The same reason he would want to coach young boys.
A man being an authoritative figure around young girls does not make him a predator. Being a piece of shit predator is what brings out predatory tendencies. Lets not spread the notion that men can’t be trusted to be in roles involving young kids or that there’s no reason for a man to take interest in coaching young…
why are you able to choose again?
if you are pregnant with a male baby, who has a penis, does that mean you have a penis? The answer is, NO, of course not, because the scientific and mathematical facts of the matter are that there are 2, count them, 2 separate bodies involved
I don’t love him or believe him to be Hitler. I would say I like him more often than I dislike him but don’t quite fit with either of the extreme opinions of him. I feel the same about Van Jones. Have a love-hate relationship with him as well but I like him more often than I dislike him. It’s just that on some topics…
