I agree but by definition of the word alleged, they're correct to use it.

How?

Seriously! This is straight up Saudi Arabia and Pakistan standard stuff. 80% women in prison in Pakistan are rape victims who couldn't prove they were raped. It's disgustingly sad. In pakistan a woman who's raped and actually speaks up about it is pretty much already choosing destroy her life by filing a complaint

Yeah i'm pretty sure everyone has to use the word alleged now when someone says something without hard evidence now. When you don't use the word alleged, the comment section often derails off topic because everyone discusses that rather than the real issue at hand. That's what i've noticed in the past with rape

I don't understand why muscle strength is the only thing people consider when discussing what strong. Women generally live longer, have better immune system and ability to fight diseases. It's not that men are stronger and women are able to have babies. Men's bodies are generally stronger when it comes to muscle

That is all kinds of messed up. I can understand the victim forgiving their abuser but I can't fathom a parent being okay or accepting of the man who knocked their child out.

He spit on her first

I'm concerned about every victim who doesn't get justice for the crime they experience. Just because someone isn't a woman or a POC doesn't mean crime against them isn't real. Crime against any individual is a tragedy.

It could very well be that he froze up and that's why he didn't say no. Whether rape can be legally proven or not doesn't change what it is. In some places you can't rape your spouse by legal standards but that doesn't mean it's not rape. If Shia says he was raped then i'm going to believe him because i don't think i

Yes that made her apology sound so fake to me

That's horrible! There's not many things more classless than talking crap about children this way.

She should've apologized to the Obama girls as well. Saying, "i'd like to apologize to all those who I have hurt and offended with my words" is nice but who she really owes an apology to is the girls. The hateful tweet was her directly speaking to the Obama girls, I think her apology should also be to them. That's who

Yes I saw many of the same women who i've seen making fun of female rape victims making negative comments about Shia's story.

I didn't feel personally offended by your comment at all. I only pointed that out because you said majority of the negative comments you read were from women but my experience was completely different. After reading comments on several different news articles, I noticed how the men were much worse and more women were

Yes! I saw so many MRA's commenting on this story and all they were doing was talking crap about female victims and people who support them and false accusations, and didn't show any care for what happened to Shia, male rape victims or anything nice or helpful.

I read comments on guardian, daily beast, mic, and huff post on articles about this and while many women were confused about what to think off it and some did say things like it wasn't rape, the comments from men were worse and more victim blamey. There were more women who believed him than men as well.

I think it would be more embarrassing if you're 40

I would take away his xbox and have him participate in gender issue programs and do some reading on gender issues and bullying and also think of ways to teach him to be more empathetic. He would get his xbox back after I was certain that he would be a better person.

Maybe he froze? That does happen to victims of rape

I wouldn't blame him at all either. He's just a kid and he has done a lot already. I saw the youtube video with the rapist's name and pictures and couple of his guy friends were still defending him in the comments. It was disgusting! Now I really am worried about the guy who made the recording. Students can probably
