Alternate explanation (yet not necessarily contradictory):

I mean, they probably couldn’t keep Lily Tomlin around for the full series, and they didn’t want to just replace her.

Short Round, mentored by aging Jones, trying to save some magic Chinese artifact from destruction during the cultural revolution is such an obvious direction for a sequel and it drives me crazy that it will never happen

They already had a good successor, having Short Round evolve to take Indy’s position would have been nice development that would made him more thean a rather unfortunate Asian comedic sidekick.

James O’Barr created the comic as a way of dealing with his girlfriend’s death at the hands of a drunk driver, which is of course a tragic loss for him.

I feel like, if there was a real Joker, he’d be the one pushing for this movie to happen... just so he could blow up the movie studio in the middle of filming.

Now that it’s over, how this wasn’t a part of Secret Empire is beyond me

We now have the plot of Secret Empire II. Deadpool is cut exactly in half and then both halves grow back, only one of them is EEEVVVIIIIILLLLL and one is good, only no one can figure out which is the original Deadpool.

Yeah, but Arrival was marketed to be more of an invasion film and in the end was more cerebral so I’m thinking this will work out the same way. (also like Sicario as well)

I am kind of surprised and delighted at the sheer amount of vitriol the trailer provoked, since I thought I was the only one who hated that book.

Far more concerning to me, and I pointed it out below, is that there sure do seem to be a lot of explosions. While the original Blade Runner had its action scenes, they were often presented in stylish ways. In this film, it looks as if it is an “action” film first and foremost.

Is it just me, or does this movie just look generically “futuristic” and not at all like Blade Runner?
