I think this is why conservatives like Carson so much. He really did have a remarkable rise, so in their minds he is the proof that there is no racism, no problems with being poor, no problems with getting to college if poor, etc.

I don’t know, but when you film a movie about growing up in Texas or Arizona and the classroom scenes are 95% white kids and the rest black kids and no Hispanics you are not being close to accurate. When you film a movie in/about Hawaii and surfing and all the kids are white you aren’t doing it right.

And yet oddly enough the best person for the job is usually white guys in a white guy ensemble film. And everyone is SHOCKED! when a chick flick makes the bucks.

Nope, Seinfeild was just being whiney because the damn kids these days don’t laugh at his humor...so it must be them and their p.c. culture. My bet is many of them laugh at way edgier stuff presented by younger comediens.

Because sex for money with some loser dude is very different then terrified sex with guy threatening you life with a gun if you don’t put out for any reason dude. And I can call this guy a loser because he’s a f’ing rapist...not because he would (or wouldn’t as the case may be) pay for sex.

Holy crap. And sex with a gun to your head is terrifying and awful, she probably feared for her life the whole time, justifiably. If the guy had sex and then didn’t pay, he’s an asshole, what he did was rape.

I was in traffic school and watched a video produced by the Newport Beach Police. The cop teaching the class pretty much said any parent that lets their teen drive a high end race car doesn’t love them. At Burning Man years ago when photographs were still discouraged, there was a guy on a cross that he had motorized. He looked like a Hollywood version of Jesus, super slender and darkly bearded. Where he had his hands on the cross he had some sort of controls. He just motored around the playa hung on the cross.

Clarify. I meant the creeper was older. Not that Jewel was either or that you thought Jewel was a creeper. He was a creepy older guy (though if she was 8 anyone over 10 or so, being interested in, her was too old) who used his older, outdated terms/expressions on her.

I figured the creeper was the old guy, not her. You know, the kind of person that says they paid for college by working at McDonald’s and everyone else should be the same, and a dollar tip per customer is more than enough.

But by many people’s standards, fairly or not, especially when younger, when she was 5’1” and at the higher end of her scale (175? 185?) she very easily could have been labeled that way. I try and make a point of being honest about my weight. I also weigh more than I look and I hope it helps my friends that are hung up on the numbers alone and not beat themselves up over it.

I know that when my husband was going through cancer treatments the hospital was very careful to make sure that he wasn’t be abused at home and/or taken advantage of. They really do look for signs and it’s pretty standard.

I wonder if it was a Terry Schiavo type case except instead of being brain dead and being kept alive, the child could be incapacitated and in incredible pain and kept alive for 2-3 weeks if they keep doing procedures. One parent okay with that and one parent not. I don’t have any answers for what is right, it’s easy…

I don’t feel sorry for her, but damn, she is such a sucker and is being played so bad.

It’s similar to the Red State/Blue State issues here. The more poor the state, the more likely they will be more xenophobic.
