"I also would have fired any waitress who felt she only had to be "cute and smile" to keep her job. after being fired 4 times before."

I saw a preview of this in the theater recently. Even the clips freaked me out. Seeing a baton being wrapped in barbed wire was horrific.

To be fair, their marriage was probably all wonderful until the gays attacked it. It all went downhill after that. No marriage is now safe. The McDonnell's are just another victim.

I think you're right. On twitter I already see people offering her a job or help finding one. This might truly be a blessing in disguise. She's free of that place.

Big difference about being anon bikini gal on Willie the tow truck driver's FB page and being on network TV.

It's a right to work state. We all know that really means is the right to work for less and be fired for no reason what so ever state.

Still feeling sad for the woman fired. She might be fine being a bikini waitress but I don't blame her for not wanting to be on tv forever immortalized as one.

It's relatively new. Go book a seat on any major airline, you can see how much each seat costs.. The first few rows in coach have more leg room, cost more, the emergency rows cost more, etc. Even being on the aisle can cost more, though I doubt any cares about that kind of switching.

No, you don't get to "upgrade" just because a seat is empty anymore. If you paid for the cheapest seat option that's what you get nowadays. The reason the emergency exit seats was empty was because they charge for them (hate that, but welcome to a new day) just like there might be empty first class seats.

Exactly. The people who have always ended up causing me real problems and/or truly hurt me were ones with low self esteem. They don't think they deserve good things and can be so self destructive and sometimes lash out.

I saw a perfect example on the http://instagram.com/byefelipe linked earlier. The guy who felt ignored helpfully pointed out the woman's eyebrows were out of control.

Why don't all these judgemental, stuck up, fat women with kids who aren't interested in me not realize #notallmen.

"I told my table over and over that there was no way the plate would be gluten-free, period, end of story. So did the manager. They were okay with it, which means no one at that table actually had celiac disease. "

"one of them was indignant and told me I didn't have proper ettiquette "

I hate eating out with people that do this. If you are gluten intolerant and don't like most meats, don't order eggs benedict. Order poached eggs with a side of hollandaise...even though the presentation isn't quite as pretty.

I read this as saying everyone(!) only listens to their own side now. But you somehow hear it and all of a sudden the thought of an echo chamber could only possibly mean conservatives being maligned and liberals are worse. Nice job.

I think it's the opposite. Before if you were a hardcore crazy racist, you might find a newsletter or a few people that might agree with you, but you mostly kept it to yourself because you knew that it wasn't popular or might cause you problems if it got out.

Oh sure. Now I know what I want for Christmas after I left vague answers to everyone. This is really cool.

I knew better than to admit my lack of belief to my parents. Santa was good to me, I wasn't going to stop that gravy train...

Even when my much littler sister was annoying (first 4-6 years of her life?) I still really cared for her. A gazillion years later, I still do. Her and my husband are by far my favorite people in the world.
