Tangent: I feel the same way about Planned Parenthood. If they’d just change the name so that it didn’t tie into pregnancy/childbirth in any way, people would let up with the abortion nonsense.

I’m with you there. Or you look at virtually ANY of the women on xoJane. They all identify as feminists, which makes me feel pretty sure that this particular movement isn’t for me. Someone start something new please. We’ve got to stop recycling the word “feminist” and wondering why it has 100+ years of bad press…
The only correct answer is, “That question is a trap, but don’t worry, I know what my beliefs are.”
Can we please acknowledge that modern/third wave feminism is often extremely toxic and argumentative, especially online? I believe in and strive for equality but I won’t identify as a feminist because I refuse to stand next to the third wave; their priorities aren’t in sync with my own, and they’re prone to denying…
People like the idea of not having their products being tested (if I wasn’t clear, I’m mostly talking about animal testing, which we all hate, but is legally required for products that have any kind of “claim” or contain ingredients that qualify as a drug - this includes SPF, retinols, etc. It’s not like companies…
Ulta’s prices for drugstore products are often higher than Target’s unless you have a coupon. They don’t always have full stock of their prestige brands (the one near me only has the primers and mascaras from Benefit, and half the fun of Benefit is swatching them in the store). I’ll still go to Ulta when the price is…
I wear the CeraVe PM formula during the day when I’m not going outside until later (I work remotely so I don’t always leave the house during daylight hours). It is most definitely not a heavy night cream or anything like that. It doesn’t get in the way of makeup either.
The first Naked sounds like your best bet, though the Smoky seems to be good for people who want a little bit of everything in one palette.
Black Honey definitely isn’t discontinued. I keep waiting for them to bring back the other Honey shades, but those are really gone for good.
My most expensive product is the MUFE concealer, at around $34. Once I finish my UD shadows, I’m not restocking them. I’ve found dupes in cheaper brands.
Refinery29 recently did a video for a two-step smoky eye. I like that technique a lot. You’d think you need to blend it a lot or something, but the placement of the application does the work for you.
NYX has one that I’d consider a dupe for the clear Smashbox. It doesn’t have quite the same slippery silicone-y feel, but it dries down the same.
CeraVe’s PM moisturizer. It’s just a nice lightweight gel. Their AM one has SPF30 but a lot of people just wear the PM all the time - SPF comes with its own issues sometimes.
I’d say that part of the issue is that it’s Elf - it might be a random dud of a lipstick. Also, do you rub your lips together a lot when you wear lipstick, to see if it’s still there? Stop doing that. It’s making you eat your color off!
Go to colourpop.com and either thank me for saving your life, or hate me for making you spend all your money.
Moisterizer absorbs into the skin better if your skin is just a little damp, so that’s what the mist is probably good for, though it doesn’t have any antioxidants in it for anti-aging. If I’m throwing it out there, I recommend Humphreys lilac witch hazel. It has moisturizing glycerin like the Glossier mist, plus…
You’re not really supposed to apply cream blush to oily skin. It just kind of spreads around and gets messy. It’s good for dry skin that products can’t really stick to.
Hmmm, why do you think there’s an issue with your application? You seem to be doing it right - just spread a thin layer wherever you’ll be applying color. I’ll say this: If you’re questioning your application of something like a primer, it means you haven’t actually found the right product.
UD is the best eye shadow primer I’ve tried, but once I’m done with my tube I’ll probably go back to using the NYX HD one. It’s 95% as good for way less money.
Be careful about glycolic acid! It pulls away the older layers of skin, which is why it makes you look so nice, but those older cells provide physical sun protection. If you’re not using SPF religiously, glycolic acid just creates a cycle where you’re revealing new skin just to make it look older faster.
