My husband is a former employee of the state of Mississippi. As of at least 2006 the state still referred to today as “Robert E. Lee Day”, NOT “Great American’s Day” and certainly not “MLK Day”. They also still celebrate “Confederate Memorial Day”.

Surely you are trolling... you can’t possibly consider it ruthless to require an employee make some type of contact, however brief? The last few companies I’ve worked with had the same policy; if you miss three consecutive days of work without contact of some type then you’re terminated. I’ve never seen a single…
