The majority of women in developed countries do indeed get to take six months off. Some get longer, and rightly so. It’s only in the US where you’re expected to pull yourself together and send your practically newborn off before the scar from your C section has had a chance to fade.

All three of Kate Middleton’s pregnancies were difficult - she had hyperemesis gravidarum with all three of them, and she had to cancel several engagements because of her pregnancy with Prince Louis. There were plenty of news reports about this, and it’s even in her Wikipedia article.

God, a million reasons? The biggest being that finding employment—especially stable, non-precarious employment—is fiendishly difficult in the current economic climate. This is true regardless of your level of educational attainment, too.

Because it goes without saying that most people are working to improve their lives and situation, so it’s condescending to suggest otherwise. This type of response distracts from the actual problem. It’s how we get a Congress that is hellbent on getting rid of social safety nets, calling them “entitlement programs”,

“Quit complaining and find a better job” isn’t advice, it’s condescending, and it ignores the real problem. There’s a million different reasons why a person may be in the situation they are, and there’s a million reasons why they may not be able to change it at the moment. None of those million reasons should be an

I’m sorry, maybe I’m a prude.

ABANDON HIS PUBLIC?

It would appear that Obama must continue to play the “Magical Negro” role until white liberals are satisfied with his overall performance.

Besides, it’s water. She didn’t get hurt.

I don’t mind her being mentioned, particularly if folks with their own opinions aren’t shut down or labeled as hating if they’re not 100% glowing. We grown folks ‘round ch’ere (or are supposed to be).

OOh, yes, that will be amazing! All though at the rate the monarchy is turning over. George won’t be king until she’s in her 90's.

So I’m at the US Open many years back when a rainout brought play to an end for the day. I had a torn hamstring at the time and some very nice security gave me a golf cart ride to the exit which happened to be by the player’s locker room. As I’m limping along Serena comes out and took the time to ask if I was ok. And

That’s a great catch on the plate..

If you look carefully at the license plate - it has their wedding date on it (19 - 05 - 18) :-)

You know in the planning stages they gave him a time estimate and he was like “Oh, no absolutely. Absolutely ...” while his people politely tried not to laugh.

Next time someone says “Your dad is a preacher, is he gonna say something at your wedding”, I’ma just show them this clip as Exhibit A as a reason why not. Because I love my Dad to death, but I ain’t about to have him get all long winded like he’s in the pulpit at his home church.

WTF? Gina Torres is a celebrity in her own right. Who the hell cares who her ex-husband is? That is some sexist shit right there.

Pleasantly surprised by the little Black touches. Sad for her to have only one family member there.

And like anyone who has been to a black church knows, you can’t give a black preacher a mic, and expect that he’ll only say a few words.

As someone who has recently gone through a fitness/health journey of their own, your comment is solid advice. Simple yet accurate. People (women in particular) are always asking me how I lost weight, what my “secret” was, what “diet” I was on, etc. and when I tell them I just decided to eat well (less carbs & sugar,
