I was really hoping Papi would take the money and stay safe yet the second he did, I felt like crying because it was so against his character. If it hadnt been for Nacho telling him to remember the other family and the implied threat to them, then Papi would have launched himself on Hector right there and be glad to

It's more "not caring if you live or die". The kind of thing that leads one to smoke when the doctor says you will die from it, to drive too fast and recklessly, stuff like that.

Looks like that Air Force Guy in Mabel was a soothsayer or something…."You know, guys like you…you think you're so damn smart, and you think you don't have to play straight with anybody. The wheel is gonna turn. It always does."

Even if he does still have Sandpiper money, it will take awhile.

A couple of months ago, a college kid in my state lit himself on fire on purpose. In public. A very intentional, horrible suicide.

I see it.

Ive heard that from a lawyer that in a big firm research and review are like detention.

Yup.
If I were one of the hundred or so employees at HHM, either partner or janitor I would have appreciated him reaching into his own pocket to keep our jobs safe and get rid of a liability.

I found it realistic. But Ive come dangerously close to "not caring to death" whether it is the way I drive, risks with my health or safety. Like there is nothing in life to look forward to so why safeguard it?

Chuck was making an effort at his mental illness because it meant he could practice law again. He found out this week that he cannot. He cannot be at HHM and cannot practice on his own since he would need another lawyer to shadow him or pay extremely high malpractice as solo lawyer.

he still gets his money.

I thoroughly enjoyed Howard finding his balls and rubbing them in Chuck's face.

I think Gus was just making it look really good. I dont think he really wanted Hector's heart to start back up but he knew if he didnt make a good show, word would get around.

Since Ive never seen BB, I dont know how "bad" Lydia gets or what really her role is but I know she is a major character there but from this newbie's perspective, Im just impressed by her professionalism, knowledge and authority when it comes to the Mike/Gus deal.

Mike and Gus seem to share a code of some kind. Gus was instantly able to recognize that Mike was feeling bad about the "civilian" getting killed because of him and also showed that he too found it repugnant.

Maybe but keeping him on means either money spent on fighting the insurance company OR losing a partner to shadow Chuck meaning that partner earns nothing for the firm OR the entire firm's malpractice insurance goes up for god knows how long

If he ever gets fingerprinted, wouldnt his cover be blown? Fingerprints are required to practice law and he was arrested before.

If I dont make an effort to be optimistic, the natural dark thoughts start to take over.

I felt so bad for Papi in that scene. To first find out your son has been lying to you possibly for _years_ about working for Hector and then to find out that the honest business you built and slave over and love is going to be taken away from you. He cannot be assured that Nacho is telling the truth when he says it

Unless she and Howard talk, realize the McGill brothers are both making their lives worse and decide to bring her back to HHM with Mesa Verde and that new business is enough to force Chuck out.
