Sure, fine, heels aren't "healthy." But neither is bleaching your hair, wearing nail polish, straightening your hair, eyelash extensions, piercing your ears, wearing spanx, wearing tight jeans, going tanning, smoking cigarettes, etc. And, in the spectrum of cost/benefit, heels aren't the worst on that list

I never heard of this until today. It seems like plastic surgery procedures exist for every, appearance "problem" women have that 'needs' to be fixed.

Yes I remember homecoming and prom my white friends would use so much booby pins and hair spray. One girl had to get hair spray put on every single curl that was put in her head (she had like 30-40) At the end of the night they would count the number of bobby pins they had in their hair. Highest number was over 100.

I agree we can do more with our hair, however some workforce places band the styles that many Black people enjoy wearing (that is a whole separate issue).

Exactly! When I here African theme, I think of people not animals. Savannah would imply animals and grasslands. Usually when someone does a theme from a country or a continent (a continent is too broad) people and culture are involved. Most people commenting seem to not understand that.

I am upset that your comment is a) in the gray b) in the minority. I am so annoyed at Jezebel has a serious problem dealing with non-white people issues. If this involved any type of sexism they would be on it.

I was thinking about this. I have heard Black women dying try to get illegal plastic surgery for a bigger butt/hips/thighs. I think the thin vs fat refers to White's society standard of beauty. This "vs" battle ignores other cultures (within the US) with different standards of beauty and how people who live within a

I honestly agree with you. I think intersectionality of racism and sexism is a strong barrier to overcome. For example, an employer may have bias against "fatter" people but if they have stronger biases against hiring Black women it would not matter if you are thin, they would hire any non-black person over you.

don't tell black women to relax their hair

Put hair into 'weaves' is still vague. Do you mean sew-in, glue in, wigs, etc? Depending on the weave depends on the time. Sew-ins take a lot a time (the hair is braided in a beehive style fashion), especially if none of the hair is showing. Glue in/clip-in is fast. Black people (Biracial or not) do have a variety of

"Black hair" can range from kinky, coily to silky straight. My father (black) has naturally straight hair my mother (black) has kinky, coiled hair.

She has been around for years. She is annoying she says she grew her hair long and fast because of her mixed heritage and her "mixed texture".

I cannot stand when someone uses the word, "retard" as an insult.

I thought this too!!! I also thought they were not thinking about Black women though.

Cue the people who complain that people calling out this show are too PC or too sensitive.

I think a thigh gap is funny, it was not until tumblr I found out it was a big deal! I have had a thigh gap for all my life and the reason why is because I am bow-legged (so my legs do not touch despite being different sizes) "thigh gap" is genetic, I hope next being pigeoned toed is a thing, (fingers crossed).

Fashion is used to erasing WOC, it is like their default setting.

For years I have only used men's deodorant. Women's deodorant never worked as well as the men's for me. Also when I used to do sports plenty of women used Ax deodorant. I sweat a lot when I work out and with women's deodorant I stunk, no matter how much I put on. Plus I think men's products are cheaper.

This comment made me laugh out loud. Well played (the little detail about platypus being vemonous....YASSSS!) Queen Platypus approves this message!

Yes, I wish I could recommend you a bunch of times!!!
