Uncharted takes place in a heightened universe not unlike a summer action movie, where death doesn’t carry as much weight. Think Indiana Jones or the 1999 Mummy. The devs have talked about this and it’s pretty interesting.

They’re actually the same now. Just that the most taxing details will be removed during gameplay for obvious reasons. So Donut Drake will stay Donut Drake during cutscenes, unlike in previous Uncharteds where there were actually different models during cutscenes.
You were saying that Lara at least has an arc...
You played UC4 already? Didn’t know it was out already...
You mean Lara being scared out of her mind and then killing her enemies in brutal fashion? That’s ludonarrative dissonance not writing. I was pointing more towards the cringeworthy lines themselves where you could almost picture Luddington reading the lines of an autocue written by a highschool kid.
Played both and Uncharted blows Tomb Raider out of the water in every way to me. I can see how you prefer the gameplay in Tomb Raider though, but that writing... The plastic look of Lara also can’t compare to Nathan’s facial animation.
LMAO, im sorry but that Tomb Raider reboot and the sequel don’t have anything on Uncharted...There is a reason why Crystal Dynamic copied the hell out of Uncharted for the reboot
I disagree! I think one of the strengths of Uncharted is the linear story. I don’t always want to be a character in the desert looking for my next job, sometimes I want to be an action hero with a story to tell. Uncharted lets me be a hero for the duration of the game, and a bunch of action set pieces to experience…
Man, this game is so what I’m in the mood for these days. I’m a tad bit burned out on massive adventures like The Witcher 3 and Fallout 4; been really wanting a finely paced, more linear experience lately, and nobody does that better than Naughty Dog.
