When we lived in Anchorage, a mama moose had her baby in the utility easement running through the center of our block, surrounded by residential houses. For the week that she hung out there nobody sent their kids out to play.

I grew up in Palmer sort of close to downtown and we had a Mom and baby moose in our backyard a few times. We just stayed in the house and looked out the window...like normal people who don't want to be attacked by a moose!
