I LONG for freckles. As a kid it was an almost-painful yearning for them. Now I just get mildly jealous. They're so gorgeous.

Speaking of Benefit...those brow zinger things with the wax and powder make eyebrows look AWESOME but also look pretty natural. I use that more than I use mascara now.
Yeah, "women have been doing this for centuries" is the stupidest fucking argument for homebirth I've ever heard in my life. Yeah, and women and babies have been dying for centuries! Read some fucking historical journals and letters, assholes. You'll see just how excited many women were to give birth at home with no…
In many states (most, even?), pregnant women who do not otherwise have insurance coverage are automatically approved for the state health plan, so there is that. $0.00 cost to the family, vs. having to $3k to a "midwife". Also, the thing about birth is most of them go fine, but when it goes wrong it can go wrong SO…
They probably tend to happen near holidays because the greater likelihood that the women and her partner will have a couple extra paid days off + family members might be closer by during that period to help. If you know you're going to need a c-section anyway, you're safely close to your due date (39+ weeks), why the…
My guess is that it's the kind of alcoholic beverage that scarcely tastes like alcohol at all.
My kid is a Type 1 diabetic and I would absolutely NEED to know if he had any alcohol or the results could be fatal. And if I had already given him insulin for a meal and then he had a large amount (for a small child) of alcohol, he could be in serious danger.
My husband just had one a few weeks ago. He spent the weekend mostly in bed with meds, naps, and cold stuff on his scrotum, and he took it easy the first couple of days back to work. He had a little soreness now and again for about a week after that, a "tightness" (I'm thinking the healing of stitches probably) for a…
Yeah, being able to fill out my ballot and not drag three children under 3 years old to a polling place to stand in line for two hours was freaking awesome. Thank you Oregon.
Oregon has vote by mail only and it has historically helped with voter turnout I believe. They also allow you to change your voter registration online very easily so that helps as well. I think early voting and vote by mail options that are well-publicized and encouraged everywhere would help immensely.
Haha! Even I, an unabashed sicko who starts playing Christmas music sometime around September 5th, hate "Sleigh Ride". The worst.
"Sleigh Ride" is technically a Thanksgiving song, so.
It was the silent, mocking scream that sealed the deal for me. What the fuuuuck.
There was a thread in the original scary story post about psychic dreams. Don't have time to dig it up just now but it was interesting. A lot of people said they got them, myself included. Many mentioned those extremely vivid, brief dreams that make no sense at the time...but when they actually happen (weeks, months,…
I had to stop reading these because I slept like crap one night from it. I'd forgotten all of them...EXCEPT GOAT MAN. Shudder. The worst.
Gah! You could always burn some sage in there? D:
Oh wow, I get these ALL THE TIME. Mundane, brief moments that are very, very "real" feeling. They typically happen a few weeks later. This has happened to me dozens of times. And then I get a moment of startling realization. "Oh! Oh. I remember this now." It always plays out in an identical manner. I can't explain why…
It's just so convenient! I mean sometimes I just leave it there for good so I don't sit down the wrong way and feel that errant tug on the string as it's trapped between my thigh and a seat, which is such a gross feeling.
Yeah, how the fuck do you get really good and clean down there when standing? Or do you have to kind of hover, which then...why not just sit down? I am so confused.
I HATE when that happens!
