Maybe it's just a taller on average = longer legs on average = bigger stride thing, but I have no idea.

Fuck those people. I hate that so goddamn much. Stagger yourselves, motherfuckers! It's not that hard. You can still talk. Fuck's sake.

AHAHAA. My husband is just slightly shorter than that and I am 5' 5". "ONE OF YOUR STEPS IS TWO OF MINE!" is a constant refrain in between panted breaths when strolling together. He's like striding effortlessly above the fucking tundra like a frost giant or some shit and I'm running around like an exhausted field

Yes yes yes! I love this book so much.

I've been cackling for several minutes now. Well done.

It isn't sacred to you because you don't believe God exists. That doesn't change what these particular people believe and since this is a place of worship they absolutely have authority over those grounds/buildings.

On one hand, okay, on the other, it's their sacred place. They have every right to make rules centered around the holiness of that site. They didn't throw her in jail or issue a fatwa or something. They asked her to leave.

I agree wholeheartedly with all of this. As an introvert myself, I like that I can foster a more outgoing personality on Facebook. I like myself just fine, but it's fun to experiment with being that way.

Good to know...I think we all wind up hating our parents for SOMETHING to some extent. But if my kids were really unhappy at their school for a long period of time, I'd definitely pull up stakes.

Yeah, totally. I do see your point.

My husband and I just made the decision to live in a more working class/middle class urban neighborhood instead of fleeing to the suburbs (much to a lot of our older friends/family confusion), even though we have a toddler and two more kids on the way. We intend to stay here for the long haul.

Well, they live in California (I'm guessing?), and it's legal in California....

"Pumpkin Spice" rung up as "Pump Spic", "spic" being a racial slur.

And "Lynn"! But Ann, of course. How could I forget?

It's been in the top 50 baby girl names since the year 2000, and by 2006 it'd cracked the top 10. That's pretty damn popular over the whole 2000s.

Nah, she was in that initial Sophia boom. And Grace is the new Marie/Elizabeth/Rose middle name filler of choice for the last decade or so.

I'm sure he's a real gem himself, most likely.

Dooo that. Please, please. I planned on doing that for my own wedding but let everyone talk me out of it...and because I didn't want the white foofy dress and kept putting the shopping off, I ended up buying something horrid online that I still cringe at when I look at my wedding pictures. :( I should have bought some

They also make "official" bridesmaid dresses extremely cheaply. That shit falls apart in absolutely no time. So even if the bride tries to be considerate by choosing something that she thinks her bridesmaids might want to wear again, it just doesn't work. Off the rack is a win in my book.

Lmao...I should mention that to MY MOM who once made us all wear either red, green, or khaki shirts with khakis for family pictures once. It was the worst. She's since become slightly less obsessed with matchy matchy family pictures, but not by much.
