You said it.  There are exceptions.  I take serious offense on the blanket "it's learned at home" theory.  There are many, many things learned from peers. 

His autistic and has meltdowns where he starts cussing. All of a sudden this word appeared on his vocabulary. He had never heard it before. Didn’t really know what it meant, just that adults changed their behavior when it was spoken. He also would take his pants off to keep teachers from touching him.
