My friend’s cat had asthma and needed a daily pill. Friend would coat pill in butter and ping it into the back of cat’s mouth. Cat liked the butter and swallowed.

I had no miscarriages and I would have been terrified to intervene at 7 mos pregnant.  You did what you could safely do in that situation.  If people could not be garbage humans, it would really be great. 

People don’t help, though.  They will, however, join in on ganging up on women.

I am generally a person who helps.

Any cat I’ve had, the pill pocket fooled them exactly once. Subsequently they nibbled the pocket down and spat out the pill with a defiant glare.

I know someone whose cat bit her hand. She thought nothing of it, it was a pretty small puncture, but the next day she started running a fever. She went to urgent care and they gave her antibiotics. I’m not doubting that this is somehow dangerous, but I both care for cats (several of whom need medication and on occasion end up biting me even though I’m usually able to do administer it calmly w/no probs) and have my own cat (who likes to bite during play, sometimes too hard) so I’ve literally been bitten hundreds…

Pill pockets seem great until you have a cat that has figured out how to eat the treat part and leave the pill behind. Sigh.

When I adopted my cat years ago I attempted to give her a bath, which....went poorly. Being new to cat ownership, I ignored the warning signs until she panicked enough to bite me (on the thumb) so she could escape. Again, new to cat ownership, I just washed the bite and stuck a band-aid on it, thinking nothing of it.

I am just popping in here to say that if a cat ever bites you and breaks the skin, go immediately to the ER. Even if it doesn’t seem like much. Even if it doesn’t hurt that badly, or if you’ve never had an issue with a cat bite before. Cat bites can literally kill.

Cute as can be and really placid until he has to have a pill, he’s stressed and my hands are bleeding. Tuna sometimes works.
