Minor complaint: was it necessary to point out that she is Sikh? Do you call Maya Angelou a Christian poet? By the way, her “grand terms” are poetry not theory. I find it empowering but I also find the physical action of menstruating painful and messy and yeah, gross. Can’t it be both?
