in our supermarket it's compulsory to charge for the carry bag. rule was imposed to reduce the usage of polythene bags but rates are so nominal that people dont bother to buy these bags for their groceries. i think instead of that, give rebate to the customers who bring their own carry bags is a very nice idea.
