I like candy in bed, myself, especially any kind of taffy/chewy fruity candy. Strawberry and/or cherry Chupa Chups are also nice.

Upvoted for the 'Burbs reference!

Nah, I think it's kind of funny. :-)

Ha! Awesome. Thank you! And yeah, I think it's pretty region-specific, because like I said, I've never met anyone in another part of the country who knew what I was talking about (and in St. Louis, where I grew up, they weren't a common thing).

I'm not a big fan of pickles, but marinating chicken in pickle juice before breading and frying is the secret to making amazing fried chicken.

We still go back to watch that line delivery again every time we watch that movie. It's so perfect.

If memory serves, Chow Yun-Fat learned a lot of his (English) lines phonetically as well.

This is beautiful (and hilarious).

I was that wrong-headed kid. :-)

I feel bad now. I rarely watched this show because I thought the contestants were all just insufferably stupid; it never occurred to me that they were just trying to get to the challenges.

Jesus, that seems really uncalled for.

I remember when we first got cable, and I was flipping through the channels and stumbled across You Can't Do That On Television. I was totally enraptured. Not a lot of people had cable yet then, so none of my friends had ever heard of this. It was fun to monitor how far the cable trucks went/when they hit various

Also, I guess I'm weird, because the Maeve storyline is the one I'm getting bored with.

Ugh, Deckard was NOT a Replicant!! That's just some crap Ridley Scott added because he thought it would be cool, but it totally destroys the whole damn point of the story.

I asked the same thing! My husband believes it's due to the "Someone higher-up than us has already been messing with her code," thing, and that said higher-up person has basically made that impossible to do. Because yeah, all the blackmail stuff doesn't explain why they can't erase her memories of the blackmail info

Okay, maybe this is totally obvious to everyone else, but I've been wondering since the beginning why they chose a name like Dolores, instead of something more typically "Western." First I thought it was some connection to "dolor" in Spanish ("pain"), but then I thought, the company was/is named "Delos." Delos-Dolores?

Thank you! I was getting confused by the reviewer and commenters saying Lawrence respawned before Ed Harris killed him, or immediately after, because I thought I remembered it being the next day.

Excellent post, and point.

Trump won because an AV Club writer keeps whining about nude robots?

We do not have some committee that "forbids" ads or shows in the US. Free speech is a Constitutional right here; the government cannot restrict it. If we had such a committee, all of the shows you mentioned wouldn't exist.
