I greyed it because your reply was unnecessary. Why did you feel the need to reply to that comment too when I had already responded here?

Maybe I missed it, but I didn’t see anywhere in the article that the film is based on John Ajvide Lindqvist’s novel of the same name which came out in 2005, one year after Let The Right One In.

I only read it last year and quite liked it, but I feel it would probably work better as a short mini series rather than a

Wait. I’m totally confused here, and I’m not being snarky about that. I’m being genuine. The writer seems to think Dev Patel played the protagonist in Life of Pi (“he’s navigated onscreen situations as dicey as being lost at sea with a tiger”), but that wasn’t him. (He was way too old for the role at that point.)

Just to clarify, are you suggesting that she did not, in fact, take the most private jet trips this year, and that these bloggers are lying? Or, she actually did take the most private jet trips this year, but each of her 170+ trips was an attempt to escape this warzone you speak of, and each time she discovered,

“The vibrant, jocular tone of the book?” Persuasion is easily Austen’s most thoughtful, even downbeat novel. There are some elements of humor, but treating it like a breezy Regency lark is exactly the wrong approach, and it’s why pretty much everywhere else hates this movie.

Now playing

No disrespect to ST, but all it’s really done is integrate one song (Running Up That Hill) at a few effective moments. When It’s Cold I’d Like To Die was used pretty well too (bit of an anachronistic choice though, I think?) and the synth score is great. I wouldn’t personally say its use of music is particularly

John Krasinski didn’t bring any charm to Reed Richards, so that fancast either backfired or was on point.

Come the F on, Linda. You know perfectly well the commenter meant hero as in “protagonist”, as in “the character you root for.” And your review totally treats Butcher as the protagonist of the show. As the main character. One way it does that is by totally ignoring the actual protagonists of the show, Hughie and

I read Rose Madder in middle school. I am not sure why, but I always got the feeling it could be a much better movie than it was a book.

Eyes of the Dragon would be my number one, surprised it didn’t make this list. Way too many books that have already been adapted on this list, there is no need for another Dead Zone when the 1983 version is perfectly awesome.

If we were to say “designed to make a specific, blameless person feel bad about their personal appearance” instead of “ableist,” would you start to get it? It’s a spectrum - this might be less awful than, say, making fun of Liza’s wheelchair, but it’s the same kind of awful.

I’m finding the responses here on the whole depressing, at best arguing the particulars and semantics and not grappling with the whole of the moment. And I will say that those comments have a role in sharpening the tools to discuss this, but really, at this moment of fear and grieving—a continuing moment and not a new

Not as star-studded as (slightly tighter) the 1978 version, which in addition to Peter Ustinov as Poirot had Bette Davis, Maggie Smith, Mia Farrow, Jane Birkin, Angela Lansbury, David Niven, Olivia Hussey, Jack Warden, and George Kennedy.

Nope, it’s Peter. There is a nearly identical shot of him in that same outfit in the teaser trailer. He starts facing the camera before he turns away. It’s Tom Holland.

I wouldn’t just blindly assume that Daphne Dorman’s story is as simple as Dave would like you to believe:

Isn’t Bialik anti-vax and I can’t think of a term to describe her not feminist views, that maybe, she shouldn’t be given more high profile positions than she already has?

Warrior is so fucking good and I wish more people watched. I’m hoping Koji really pops in this movie and they get some more viewers. Great fight scenes. Lots of Asian actors usually underserved getting some good roles. Jason Tobin in particular can do some wacky knife fighting, then deliver a beautiful little

In my opinion, the weakest aspect of this series has been Sylvie. The first two episodes set up a strong mystery only for the curtain to be pulled back on someone who’s end goal is so.......shortsighted and extremely limiting in scope for a Loki. And maybe that is the point, she is the antithesis of what a Loki is.

Genuinely enjoyed the first movie. I think they should have centred the movie on Kate’s character, otherwise I had a lot of fun and thought some of the chase scenes had a good amount of scare to them.

Beforeigners on HBO. Does anyone else even know it exists? I loved it!
