Stump BeefKnob!
Or Albert Brooks' "Defending your Life."
Mirror, Mirror was definitely the template for What if…, but the 1963 Twilight Zone episode The Parallel was one of the first examples of a character slipping into a parallel universe on TV. Dark Shadows also had some visits to parallel planes, and I want to say so did classic Doctor Who, but not sure if they did…
Simmons has escaped death after being at bottom of the ocean, deep undercover with HYDRA, and stranded on a dark, desolate alien world while being hunted by Hive for 6 and half months. There are few Agents of SHIELD I trust more to get the job done.
All this, plus I think her first trip to Earth and seeing things like birds and the ocean for the first time was profoundly moving to her. I mean, there is no shortage of motivation here.
Definitely.
So far, second season of ITB is even better than the first.
Hey! They killed Danny!
The show that most needs a crash course in how to script and stage some Banshee-style mayhem is The Walking Dead.
I fully expect that the story will continue brilliantly on parallel mental, physical, and astral planes- between which, Oliver is still unanchored.
My theory is that neither Lenny or Benny were "real" persons, but, rather, corporeal forms that The Shadow King created for itself via manipulation of David's powers over mind/matter.
Ah… well it's probably escaped from a zoo.
"Er… I think I'd better come clean with you about this… it's… um it's not a virus, I'm afraid. You see, a virus is what we doctors call very very small. So small it could not possibly have made off with a whole leg. What we're looking for here is I think, and this is no more than an educated guess, I'd like to make…
Rick make good Snu-Snu when battle over.
Garbage people in, garbage people out.
And that's really all the "battle" was- a bunch of people running around with guns, shooting an endless supply of bullets at something, a tiger chewing on someone's face, etc…, i.e., completely incoherent action devoid of tension. If Season 8 is going to feature a big war, they better figure out how to stage this…
Such a brilliant series. With one of the best casts ever on TV, and an excellent script from Kelly, Vallée crafted the perfect 7-hour book adaptation. So nice to see al the great response here.
That tiger attack was straight out of the baseball bloopers scene from The Naked Gun.
Gwen, thank you for giving Big Little Lies the props it deserved. I think it is among the best things all involved have ever done. At that, it seems like a hard show for people to embrace or talk about. Personally, I am feeling much more trepidation about the finale for BLL than TWD tonight.
I find the show much improved from the first season. Having some genuine comic relief in the form of Nick Frost helps, too.
