Fellow keeper here and I’m glad to finally see someone speak for zoos here. It makes me sad how much of a negative view people have on them. :( I’m pretty sure when people imagine zoos they just see an animal in a barred cage, starving and with no enrichment whatsoever.

Zoos are amazing and absolutely needed. AZA accredited zoos anyhow. Most zoos in the US abide by extremely specific rules and regulations and the animals are well taken care of.
