It is about personal choices. Nobody forces you to buy a truck and hopefully don’t lie about monthly payments, if they do the buyer has a case. If not it is just dumb, shortsighted choices.

Unless the salesperson disguised the monthly payments the buyer should have known what he was in for. If dealers are more restrictive as to who they approve people will claim discrimination. Defaulted loans are not a plus to dealerships. 

As a former claims adjuster I understand about arbitrary insurance rules. They will claim they cannot sell because of a safety issue but really they know they can make a profit since they usually try to lowball on total loss value. If it is a frame/salvage issue fine but headlights?
