This is my biggest pet peeve about all of these shows. The writing is often so bad. Your explanation sounds annoyingly plausible.

As the mother of a 16 year old, I find the fact that kids that young are legally allowed to marry full grown-ass adults abhorrent. All of this is deeply sad.

I LOVED this book, so I am definitely going to give this a try, although it doesn’t seem like they are using one of the bits of imagery that really stuck with me and made me wary of mirrors in dark rooms for a while (the piebald side...yeesh.) Julianne Moore is perfect for this.

I’m still thinking about it and wish I had more episodes to watch. Truly one of the best. 

I do love Bashir and Garak together. I guess I’m just stuck in those season 1 and 2 doldrums, although the doctor has already drastically improved in the last episode we watched.

Saw a guy on youtube sneak into this village and go through a couple of these. They are soooo cheaply built, and mostly completely unfinished inside. There is also a strange sort of central mall area. Just the weirdest. edited to add: channel called Fearless and Far. Fun video!

This is one of my favorite movies.  I had no idea it was so long because it moves like a shot, and Wilford Brimley is a menacing delight.
