He’s also fantastic in Parenthood.

I admit, I didn’t see the Pete as the Serial Killer stuff coming until fairly late in the game, when they were both looking at the photos in the dark room in the previous episode. Something about the way that was filmed or written made me go “Wait a minute.” I had considered it at first, until they found Klumpsky. I…
Yes! I am always happy when the wings show up, and they have been extremely sporadic in previous seasons. This season has been wings, wings, wings!
Ugh. Copyright is broken. This is utterly ridiculous.
I loved this episode a lot more than the two previous ones, to be completely honest. I am always a sucker for Amenadiel, and watching all the nuns fawn over him was delightful. And I did indeed shout out, as Personal Jesus kicked in, “I cannot BELIEVE this is the first time this show has used this song.”
I agree that this episode is kind of weak from the standpoint of the show within a show (both episodes of Supernatural mentioned are stone cold classics) but it was fun anyways. And I absolutely loved Maze’s reaction to her character’s casting. She’s like Toph from ATLA, during Ember Island Players.
I thought his american accent was fine! I think he was, as you say, trying to make it a little over the top, really hitting those Rs, but still sounding American. Nothing like, say, Tom Hopper’s accent on Umbrella Academy. That thing is all over the place.
Yeah, that one bit made me laugh out loud. I informed my husband that, were he ever to murder anyone, I’d be out the door, and he assured me the same. Ridiculous. Rest of the episode was great, though!
Really excellent season opener! I do wish I hadn’t been spoiled on the Lucifer’s twin thing, but I was still surprised when it happened the way it did. I’ve already watched episode two, so I better not write too much in case I spoil anything, but I am so glad the reviews will continue! I can’t believe how invested…
My daughter loves this movie to an absurd degree. She first saw it when she was young and dino-mad, so like, 7-8 years old. She was not scared, she was thrilled. I was thrilled as well, getting to watch it with her. And it truly held up. The story movies like a shot, the dinosaurs are truly impressive even now, and…
Do kids run after it in slow motion?
Our ice cream truck always plays La Cucaracha, which is horrifying in a whole different way.
I just listened to this soundtrack this morning, after seeing the top movies list and thinking, “Man, I sure miss those Soggy Bottom Boys.” So nice to see it gets its own article, because it is a gem. O Brother is definitely my favorite Coen Brothers movie, and I’m looking forward to introducing my kids to it very…
I, too, hate the “dodge machine gun fire as though it were confetti” thing, and that happens in literally every super hero movie as well. I mean, I love Captain America as much as the next guy/gal, but why do baddies never aim at his legs? Or never even accidentally hit him in the legs? Never? With hundreds of bullets…
When my youngest watched this movie for the first time, she was obsessed with the magic carpet. It was her favorite character by far. Really shows you how talented the animators were, that they could make a 7-year-old love a flying carpet more than a monkey.
Just catching up on this show now. I also don’t agree, as others here have said, that the drawers are some sort of evil plan. It’s the only plan, and deciding who goes in based on diversity and skills is the only way humanity can survive. It also shows why Melanie did NOT want to have the murderer in the drawers, and…
I love Fame, but haven’t seen it in many a year. Just reading this makes me want to watch it right the heck now. What a gorgeous movie.
The Firm is one of my favorite movies, and he is absolutely chilling in that role. I love that he could so quickly go from avuncular to menacing, sometimes in the same line. I also watched Cocoon recently with my kids, and that movie is still tons of fun, despite the presence of inexplicable star Steve Guttenberg.…
I was completely obsessed with the Branagh version when it came out, partly because I was a horny teenager, but mostly because it was so thrilling and funny and sexy. I also loved the costuming, everyone looking ever so slightly sweaty and deshabille. I also loved Whedon’s version, though, and thought the actors did…
Five years late to this party, but I just had to add my 2 cents, since I am seeing a lot of “babies suck” in the comments. And guess what? They do suck! That was the damn point. Winona has been raising Raylan’s baby by herself for months, and I thought it was brilliant to show him just how difficult that would be. I…
